I would recommend not installing the 220v.

Hi Harry

It may have been just scraping the bottom of the frame which will be cosmetic damage and removed the coating which may or may not eventually cause corrosion.

The other may be that it hit the bodywork firsthand can cause the Lower panel to crack or may have bent the tab that the Allen screw at the bottom to bend.

Without looking to see any are possible

You mail the forks to them and they will work their majic to your spending limit.

(or you can order the parts and do the work yourself)

Brammo Enertia / Re: Standard or Metric?
« on: April 25, 2012, 12:25:20 PM »
Thank goodness we used Metric otherwise i would have had to buy a whole new tool kit just to work on the bikes.
it took 16 years to build up the kit i have now, wouldn't want to go through that again

Thanks BrammoBrian, and also to everyone else for all the useful infos - we usually don't get that cold around here, February averaging slightly below freezing or so (except this past winter which featured a couple of cold spells and three massive snowstorms).

On the other note... how is Brammo's current tech support over here, ie. what happens if one morning I walk out to the bike and it just won't start up? do you have any subcontractors in the area for maintenance work - if not, when do you envisage the Geek Squad coverage extension?

sorry for the delay in responding, but even though im the SoCal tech, i have customers all over the east coast i have travelled to from Boston to Florida. your in good hands

Brammo Enertia Servicing / Re: Just bought this chain cleaner...
« on: January 16, 2012, 03:07:22 PM »
I've been using Motul Chain clean and it works like a breeze it just melts out everything, I normally use half a can when I clean my chain and tons of paper towel I snatch from a local gas station, I would suggest you ride your gasoline powered motorcycle when you go get the towels and at least gas up a bit there too lol

I agree, motul is by far the best and used with the grunge brush keeps the chain at its best

Brammo Enertia Servicing / Re: Chain tensioning
« on: January 16, 2012, 03:05:31 PM »
I wonder if Brammo has thought of going belt drive?

I was over looking at the Zero DS (really not a bad bike...a bit more range would be nice, and it has a bit of a cost premium, but I am kinda liking it more and more as time goes on...too much longer of a wait on the Plus and I just might go ahead and get that DS...)

I did like this line:

New maintenance free and virtually silent belt drive system.

Mmmmm, little to no maintenance and quiet too? Win win.

Gavin

my thoughts Gavin are cost and weight, you add more weight with the belt pulleys and cost of the chain to belt is chain= $30 to $50 belts are over $150, and still require adjustments.

again just my thoughts

Brammo Enertia Servicing / Re: tire air pressure
« on: January 16, 2012, 03:01:41 PM »
just one thing,

dont rely on the gas station pressure gauge, always carry your own.

gas station gauges get dropped, driven over and just mistreated so become unreliable.

Brammo Enertia / Re: Having serious issues with throttle
« on: August 08, 2011, 02:02:39 PM »
I have heard nothing but great things about Brammo customer service...

the downside is now I fear they will send me a bike with issues so they can visit New Mexico**...it is beautiful here in the fall and great skiing in the winter...

Gavin

**Joking about that....they are welcome to visit even if my bike is (hopefully) perfect from day one :)

Hmmm Skiing? sounds like an idea !

Brammo Enertia Mods / Re: BrammoBrian's RaceTech rear shock
« on: August 08, 2011, 01:53:23 PM »
Here's a noob question: Why would anyone want to change the rear shock anyway? Isn't the one supplied by Brammo good enough? RaceTech's website make it seem like their's is 10 times better than the stock shock, but does it really make all that much difference?
???

One of the perennial activities of motorcycle owners is tinkering.  There's not too much to tinker with on the Enertia (until someone cracks the motor controller software) so that leaves us with suspension, tires/wheels, chain, handlebars, lighting, baggage, color and not much else.

Is the Race Tech suspension better?  All you can do is read the reviews.  I'm not planning on changing anything like that on mine as it is adequate for my needs.

Suspension is always a controversial subject, however heres the story.

all manufactures build a product that will work for everyone, from ride position to tires and suspension.

someone who is 5' 8" and 150lbds will fit a bike better than someone like me who is 6' 4" and 260lbds and that is why aftermarket companies are out there, you can get bars with different angles, length and height and companies like Race Tech make suspension to the riders spec, ie: weight, ride style and road conditions.

i had mine set to my weight and ride style and normal CA roads, for me its perfect, and its like riding on air and yet if a lighter rider rides my bike they find it too hard and stiff.

i hope that answers your questions.

Werm is using the best method, its the same i use with the Grunge Brush which you can get at any motorcycle dealer, except i use rags that i can wash afterwards.
