Hello,
yesterdaymorning I switched on my empulse but only the parkinglight started flashing.
Off and on didnt help. I tried charging it just to see what it does, only the flashing parkinglight.
In the evening it just starts as normal.
today the same, so I think a temp thing? In the morning 11 degr. Celsius(not cold at all)
Any ideas?

Can't it be a bad ignition contact?
-
Thanks KaFr fot reacting!
3 days in a row it doesnt start in the morning, in the evening it does.
I took it for a little spin yesterdayevening, no problems.
this morning only a flahing parkinglight. yesterday I Used contactspray and the spare key
but no change.

If you only cleaned the key hole, try cleaning the contacts of the white connector as well.
Also check that the cable is OK, not kinked or deformed.
You can also check the LOG data recorded on the flash drive under the seat. Maybe there will be some error code that did not appear on the display.
-
I disconnected the ignition connector, sprayed it and connected it again.
The logfiles dont seem to have registered the morning starts, so that may point to something.
trying again tomorrow ::)

last night (bike is always at night in the garden shed) I used a bikecover for extra protection.
This morning it looked like it wouldn't start, but after a few secondes it did. Probably a moisture issue.
Not sure what action I could take to avoid this problem!

The problem of atmospheric moisture penetrating the connectors or wiring is difficult to eliminate. You can regularly spray the ignition lock and its connector with a moisture-repellent contact cleaner. Another option is to park the motorcycle in a dry and heated garage.
I have a similar problem with my Brammo Enertia, although I do not park it outside, but in a common underground garage under the apartment building. In the spring and autumn, the horn sometimes stops working and sometimes it happens that the parking lights can be turned on only a few tries.
-
Thanks for the tip!
I will get some moisture-repellent contact cleaner.
if you remove the wires off your horn and reconnect it,you renew the contactsurface.
(removing corrosion). perhaps this will work.
I appreciate your input!
-
Thank you very much for your suggestion ;)
The contact of the horn was originally badly inserted, but the problem with its malfunction during a sudden change in atmospheric humidity did not disappear.
I will try to clean the contact properly and then insulate it better.
For parking lights, I will have to deal with the starter contact, similar to your case. Fortunately, it's not as serious a problem as the malfunctioning horn.

the problem's still there, getting worse (doesn't start in the evening), perhaps I don't apply contactspray to the right place.
anyone an idea, I've got a meter to check voltage but I need to know where to meassure and what!

Try to clean the key itself before inserting it into the ignition.
Or maybe, is there also moisture in the headlight connector?
-
the bike is running again for 2 days now!. What changed is the weather, we had 26 degrees this week.
also thanks to KaFr, I moved the headlight aside and disconnected every connector I could find, contactsprayed them and connected them again.
So far so good!
-
no suprise but it happens again. 2 days ago only the parkinglight went on, not flashing though. yesterday it
only flashes the parkinglight. today I,m going to disconnect the connectors again and hope for the best.
Like I mentioned earlier, it would be nice if we had foto's from the connectors (where they're on the bike) so we could meassure the pins to see if the voltages are there where they're needed!
-
to check the ignitionkey I disconnected it and found that the white/yellow and the black/red wires will be connected
so I shortened these with a wire. The headlight starts flashing.
What's weird is there a 4 wires in there so what are the other 2 there for as they don't seem to connect.
on page 9 E3 P121/22 is mentioned. does anyone know where it's on the bike?
thanks

Today I signed up for the roadservice ANWB, hoping they would know a little bit about the empulse.
They came but didn't know anything. But we checked the wires an tried to get it to start. after about 8 times it did.
We heared a relays come in(4 black ones in the fusebox) and removed and cleaned them all.
Problem seems to be solved!
-
My problem still excist, starts sometimes, sometimes only the parking light(and rearlight).
Hope someone can help out.

update: I found the dc-dc-converter, inside I hear a clicking sound when the motor doesn't start and there's no 12v
at the output! So I think it's causing my problem!
-
replaced the dc-dc converter(622/11086 Sevcon) and 4 relais under the tank. The empulse starts a bit quicker!
looking good!
Thanks to siai47 and HarryRink!
Thanks guys :)
