Title: August News. Deliveries this month! (We hope)
Post by: FreepZ on August 01, 2012, 09:30:14 AM
So the word I heard was... In production now, deliveries next month...so right in time for somebody heading to Miller?  :)

This is the month where we should start to see some awesome reviews of the Empulse (going a little faster than 1 mph).

Empulse TTX driven hard (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qglSvbUcSmw#ws)

Ha...I was afraid to drive it faster...Ms Moreda would, and could, kick my butt.

As for August...my guesses.

1) Empulse R deliveries start. At least 25 bikes are made. Less might be delivered.

2) 3 bikes at Miller. The TTX is added.

3) The Brammo Evangelista is named at Miller (and just look who happens to be going...)

4) More Dealerships are named.

5) James starts driving his Brammo Sprinter van around and gives out Demo Rides.

6) There is no six.

I am confused only by the Plus...I have no idea what is going on with that bike.

There was one delivery last month.

I thought that all the Law Enforcement bikes were Pluses too (or are they E-Classics?) If they are Pluses, then a whole batch were delivered recently.

I go away for a couple of weeks thinking I was going to find all of you gloating about your awesome Empulses and Pluses and nobody has been contacted yet? ???

Does anyone know if bikes were made available to journalists? They are pushing this whole thing way too close to winter to be a smart move...

I really think they want to get at least 25 into owners hands by this month, so they can race in e-Super Stock class with the Empulse TTX. But who really knows ???

I am confused about the Plus too... The LE ones are definitely the Enertia Plus, so they are cranking em out... Didnt someone here on the forums say that a German Brammo dealer mentioned they would be available for test rides this month?

3) The Brammo Evangelista is named at Miller (and just look who happens to be going...)

Who else is going :)

The HK LE bikes were supposed to be Pluses. Hopefully this is the case, and Brammo has gotten a lot of feedback and can fend off the type of early teething issues we've seen on the Zeros.

I haven't seen any journalist report of an Enertia Plus / Empulse, other than the early wired review.

Just you... :)

Gavin

as for the bikes...I would love to see Brammo have 25 in owners hands...so would Brammo I bet...
but I don't see it as a necessity due to the rules.

from my blog:

http://brammoblog.com/2012/07/31/brammo-blog-bone-weary-but-home-at-last/ (http://brammoblog.com/2012/07/31/brammo-blog-bone-weary-but-home-at-last/)

I was a bit surprised when I re-read the rules. I was wondering about the Empulse TTX. It seemed ready to go. Rider, bike and Team. Would it race sooner than we thought? So I went to the TTXGP siteā€¦

25 units available for sale. Not sold. Not on the road. Brammo can have 25 units in their showroom in Ashland and race at Miller.

Getting them into people's hands takes some time...having them in their factory is easier and then they ship them as they can.

Porsche developed the 917 as a road-racer in the 1970s. They were required to homologize the car (25 built) .. the FIA inspectors visited Porsche and only found a couple of assembled cars (and parts for the remainder). They had to punch out the remainder in a couple of weeks for a return visit.

Where did the "Empulse production line" picture come from!?  This should be posted on Brammo's Facebook page. One would think that providing evidence that the bike we have been waiting nearly two years for is actually being built in numbers, would be something worth while to share!!!  This wait has been torture  :'(

THANKS to members of this forum who can provide goodies like this and keep feeding my obsesion  :)

Yes, I found it on facebook...

It is from James, the new Dealer rep that will be taking the Empulse around to dealerships for demo rides and such. Great guy.

I think I found it at the Brammo Facebook page, but it could be that it was because James and Brammo are linked...

Empulse production line...

Here's an idea: stick a webcam up there that takes a photograph every day. Then we could see the miracle of (motorcycle) birth as it happens!

oooh... I like the webcam idea, Richard.

And at the end of each day or two, throw up a video on their Facebook page showing the last 24 - 48 hours in super fast motion.

I vote we put Richard in charge of Customer Relationship Management, since the position is obviously vacant!

Last week I've made some test rides (Enertia and Zero XU 2012) and reconfirmed my order for the Enertia+.
Today I received the message my plus would be delivered last week of August....

Only about two weeks to go! (You lucky dawg!)

Isn't this the very first confirmed delivery date we've heard out of Brammo?  Or did I miss other posts?

That's just 2 weeks away, right?

That's the first consumer delivery of an Enertia+ I've seen here. Very happy Brammo is making with the deliveries : )

CBke, what were your thoughts on riding both the Enertia and the 2012 XU?

My order id is 2011-05-10-1126. But as you can see, we don't work that way in Europe....

CBke, what were your thoughts on riding both the Enertia and the 2012 XU?

Some things are different, some things the same. I'm going to make a list of my findings and put it in a new thread.

Tomorow Kingcharles is going to make a test ride, maybe he's got more information about deliveries of Brammo.

I had a great (hot...) ride on the Enertia today! + 31 deg. Celsius here today...
The bike came from Belgium and had Belgium plates. Apparently the EU headquarters are in Germany with sub-distributors in various countries. EVC Heemskerk is a dealer and gets his bikes through the Belgium sub-distri.
The Enertia + is available from September this year for deliveries (in three colours) and the Empulse will see its EU launch at Intermot in October. Although I was told that deliveries in EU for the Empulse would not start before in April 2013  :(
There are 75 basic Enertia's available for the EU and most of these will be demo bikes for the various dealers. There are no new basic Enertia's planned for the EU.
I also understood that there are some relations between ElMoto and Brammo in Europe which makes sense as the ElMoto always seemed like a baby Brammo to me. I drove the ElMoto in the past and it is also a fun little bike with very high bild quality just like the Brammo I rode today.
We did a little drag race between the Enertia and my old Vectrix and the Vectrix is a little quicker off the line but after that the accelleration is quite the same. I will post a video of it later.
Brammo Empulse is expected to be at least 15.000 Euro. but it depends on what the Dollar does at that time because the Empulse is build in the US where the Enertia + is build in Hungary. So, go Euro!

But the test ride of the Enertia convinced me that Brammo knows how to build a good bike. After two corners I felt comfortable on the bike and the brakes are fine. I only found that at higher speeds it becomes a bit jumpy on poor roadsurface. But nothing worrying.
I hope that I can become the first Empulse customer in this country and that my Vectrix will last until that day...

Some of my impressions of the test drive we had today on the Enertia Classic:

The bike looks really solid and I loved it right away.
It was a really hot day so the fan kicked in almost immediately, but you can only hear that when you're not driving.
I made it go over 100km/h easily, but not much more than that (and i guess I had the wind in my back at the time).
That short speed test got the battery from 100% to 80%. That's fast and I hope the Plus has some more stamina there.
I also did some more urban driving, trying to see how fast you can get away from a traffic light and that felt a bit disappointing. It really feels like the first thing that happens when you fully twist the handle is ... nothing. And then it starts a little slower than I'm used to with my Suzuki (but then you also get a lot of noise so that might colour my perception a bit there). Accelerating without constantly switching gears is a lot smoother though (although a bit less intense). The dealer himself did a test drive and when stopped at the traffic light right in front of the dealership, he couldn't win from a van. I hope some tweaking of the settings may improve that part, and maybe the plus accelerates a little better?

All in all, I had decided before I came that only if the bike looked bad in real life, or if it was not fun to drive it, I wouldn't buy it. And it passed both tests beautifully so - I ordered a black Enertia Plus! After waiting almost two years, I'm really glad it paid off, and that I don't have to go looking for something else. If all goes according to plan, it will be delivered before the end of August. That means THIS month, this summer!

If this is an Enertia Classic with the power button on the tank, I believe it uses the Perm 120 rather than the Perm 126 in the 2012 Enertias. Same rated outputs, but the 126 is supposed to be a little more torquey, quieter and doesn't heat up as much.

With power button do you mean the thing to press and hold in order to get the GO signal?
Because that was a little gray switch/button below the kill switch.

Not very assuring when the website still says Pre Order. Will still wait for the Plus though, maybe even longer than it really had to take just to see if Brammo keeps improving it.

When I ordered my Enertia Plus two weeks ago after my test ride on a Classic, the Belgian distributor told me he could deliver it last week of august. But when I contacted the dealer this week, he only told me he'd contact the distributor again... haven't heard anything yet. So it's not going to be this weekend either. Maybe next week. Sure hope it's not turning into another indefinite wait  :-\

Thought I'd bump this thread some more - my Enertia + is still not delivered. Last week, the importer's excuse was "availability problems of certain components", and delivery is postponed to end of this month. So with some luck it might be September still, when it arrives.

In any case, that's about five weeks away, which isn't that bad -- as long as they really deliver on that date!
