Title: Tubeless tire plugging systems
Post by: Richard230 on January 08, 2015, 10:42:36 AM
Here is a review of the Stop and Go and Dynaplug tubeless tire plugging products (both of which I have somewhere under the seats of my motorcycles).  I have used the Stop and Go plugger twice but not the Dynaplug. The review doesn't say which one is the best, only that both pluggers can work.  I might add that I have plugged something like 8 tires over the years and then ridden on them at mostly legal speeds, while lightly loaded, until the tire tread wore out and I never had a plug leak.  However most of the plugs were of the cheap car tire "steel belted" ribbon type, which work very well, but are a real bitch to install due to the ribbons usually being much larger than the hole that needs to be plugged. It takes a lot of effort and reaming to install these car tire plugs. The motorcycle-specific tire pluggers are much easier (although more complicated - you need to be able to read instructions) to install, which can be a big advantage should you need to plug a tire by the side of the road. However, they are certainly more expensive and not as easy to find at a retail store:

This looks like a much better idea than plugging motorcycle tires:

Interesting.

The "Store" feature on their website is currently offline.
The only two distributors in the U.S. map are on the east coast.

I'll bet their lawyers had something to do with removing any store sales to the general public.
