Bikes For Sale Or Auction / To Sell Or Not To Sell?
« on: December 07, 2019, 02:41:56 PM »
On the fence about selling my 2013 Empulse R #42. <15,000 miles. It has new sprockets and chain. It is in really good shape. Bike needs a VCU. I'm willing to fix and keep it but I haven't been riding at all now so maybe its time for a new hobby...
What should I do?

« on: July 29, 2018, 07:16:00 AM »
Nothing like an early Sunday Morning Ride. I've had the bike a little over 5yrs now and I'm slightly under 15,000 miles. Bike is doing well but I need some new grips.  8)

Well I've been MIA 'cause I've made some major life changes. The lease on my wife's Leaf was up and I got a major stiffy for the new Mustangs. So the wife and I got his and hers 2017 Mustangs. I got a Race Red GT Premium with the performance package and she got a Grabber Blue EcoBoost premium. I also moved to a new city, transferred jobs, the wife got a new job, and we're building a new home. I'm also installing an EV plug for the bike and any future EV I may purchase. I'm keeping my Empulse R but I'm moving away from the EVs until something comes out that I really like... Maybe a Tesla but if history serves right waiting for them to come out with that $35k 200 mile vehicle may take forever. So in the mean time...

Off Topic / BMW S1000RR Electric Superbike

Look what I found
http://www.s1000rrforum.com/forum/bmw-s1000rr-general-discussion/149610-s1000rr-electric-superbike.html

Found this on Motocycle News Facebook page.
BREAKING NEWS: A BMW test rider has just ridden a fully-working S1000RR electric superbike onto the stage during the launch for their new G310R roadster.

BMW say there's no immediate intent to build a road-going bike for release, but that this is a development bike to test the boundaries of what's possible, using their existing in-house technology. It's clearly something they're considering though, and have committed to talk more about the bike in the near future. More details to follow as we get them.

Nothing posted on their website yet...

Brammo Empulse Mods / Titanium Harware Upgrade (Mostly)
« on: July 05, 2015, 08:31:25 AM »
The FL rainy weather, also living 15 miles from the Atlantic Ocean seems to be having it's way with the bike's hardware. It was tarnished and rusting really bad...  The bike is only two years old with 12k miles on it so I felt that an upgrade that would last is a good investment. I tried to replace as much as I could with titanium as far as the race spec drilled for the battery brackets and all of the bodywork. Other bolts like the sub-frame, rear sets, tail section, etc. I used stainless steel.  I'm not quite done but I'm getting there.  Basically if I can put a wrench on it, I'm upgrading... What seems to be happening is as soon as I replace with new hardware next to the old hardware it makes the old stuff looks 10x's worse so you're forced to replace that too. I found plenty of stuff on here and... http://www.probolt-usa.com/
And my closest Ace Hardware.

Brammo Empulse Mods / Fast Access Pin
« on: June 16, 2015, 06:24:02 PM »
This was an accidental modification. I wasn't paying attention and stripped the nut tighten the seat. So I had to figure out what to do without buying a new seat. SO I found these "Fast Access Pins" from Sargent Cycle. They specialize in high end OEM replacement seats. http://www.sargentcycle.com/ When it comes time to replace my seat I will be getting mine from them.
Of course the fix didn't come that easy.  When I tried to drill out the nut it twisted and ripped out. So now what? I took some measurements and found these aluminum spacers. http://aluminumspacers.com/
The next problem was the pin is long and I was worried about it poking through the seat so I found a plastic cap and a steel washer that fit inside the cap that would prevent it from coming through the seat. I super glued the cap inside the seat. I then had to file out the hole to fit the spacer.  I then applied some Locktite Epoxy on the inside of the hole and inserted the spacer. I made sure everything fit and let it sit for 24hrs. This worked GREAT! I am extremely satisfied with this mod and although it was by mistake I came about this I am extremely satisfied it had a happy ending.

Brammo Empulse / System Fault v58 VCU +12v Out of Spec
« on: March 17, 2015, 09:27:15 PM »
Got the Service Required V58 on my way to work this morning. This is the second time in 6 months. I had the part replaced at the end of Sept.'14... The problem now is I have no place to take the bike. I called my dealership a couple of weeks ago to see about the latest recall and they said that because of the Polaris buy out they would be dropping Brammo and would no longer service the Empulse. To be continued...

Brammo Empulse / Custom Brammo Biker Patch?
« on: January 03, 2015, 10:14:14 AM »
I recently bought the "Hard Knock Life" leather vest from Speed and Strength to go over my armored hoodie and want to put a large back patch on it but I'm not interested in the normal B.S. So I thought what about a custom patch? The image I have is the Brammo medalion with bull logo that's on the side of the faux tank (silver done in Hi-Viz reflective material), "Brammo" in the same font as the white vinyl decal over the top and Empulse R in the same font as the decal on the side of the bike around the bottom. Maybe even include the Brammo USA decal...
I did a quick google search and found this website but it's a minimum order of 10. Is anyone else interested in this? Suggestions?

The wife and I rode the Empulse R to the Project Live Wire Demo Ride @ Peterson's Harley in S. Miami this past Saturday. Its was fun! I talked to a John Wheeler(???) who seems to be in charge of something(?) and gave him a lot of feedback.  He had a lot of questions about the Empulse of course.

Brammo Empulse Mods / How can I change the music file?
« on: October 25, 2014, 02:05:33 AM »
The music file makes the start up noise when you plug in or turn your Empulse on. I was wondering how to change that noise to something else? I personally would like The Imperial March
