Title: February News?
Post by: Gavin on January 27, 2011, 04:54:36 PM
Starting this one early as I wanted to ask two things:

One: Any planned February news? That was a fairly obvious question concidering the Topic Header...

Two: Can you take this:

and put a boat-load of batteries in it?  :)

Always thought the Triumph 100 and t-100 were the most beautiful stock bikes ever sold.

I actually have a Suzuki LS650 taken apart right now. I was seriously starting to concider where I could jam a battery pack in there, until I figured out what was wrong with the engine.

I've always wanted an electric cruiser. They're big and long. If you did one up with a bunch of fairing, you could pack the batteries in there. Never mind the possible addition of some "saddle bags". Just imagine a 500 mile range with no engine noise... I call it <dramatic music>.....</dramatic music> The Anti-Harley

I happen to have a 2005 Triumph Bonneville T-100, in black with creme highlights. It runs great and doesn't need any batteries. But the engine weighs a ton, so I am sure that you could pack as many batteries, along with a big electric motor, into the bike as you want and it wouldn't weigh as much as the original IC bike.

Not sure about an Feb news but I do have one question. Did the Enertia Plus have the same pre-order process as the Empulse? That is, zero down now and a small deposit 90 days before production if I remember correctly. I think the release date for the Enertia plus is sometime in spring of this year right? I am betting Brammo is hard at work to make this happen... probably why they have been so quiet lately I imagine. But that's just speculation.

Yes, I think that it had the same process.

I think you're on to something...  ;)

My recollection from the pre-order Empulse offer of last summer, was that Brammo would contact people who pre-ordered the bike about 90 days before it was ready for delivery and request a $500 deposit toward the purchase. After receiving the deposit, your new Empulse would be shipped to your closest dealer, within the 90 day period, for final sale to you.   :)

Yep...0 down, 90 days before delivery they will contact and ask for deposit and such...

At least that was how it was presented at the time...

MMMM, I'm supposed to get my Fiat 500 prima edizione in mid Feb...perhaps I will be giving 500 bucks to Brammo at the same time?

Need to clean my side of the garage...my side hasn't had a car in it for 6 years so right now my daughter is storing some furniture there...luckily the Fiat is pretty tiny...I imagine I can have the Fiat and both my scooters on my side quite easily once I find out what to do with my daughter's couch and desk.

Of course I don't need to move her stuff just yet if I decide to cancel the PE and wait for the Fiat 500 EV....but I HATE to wait....(subtle hint to Brammo :) )

Easy, craigslist.com, problem solved!
We have a 2 car garage as well and I have to manage my Suzuki GSXR750, the Brammo Empulse, and my Ford Fusion... on my side... its gonna be tight!

Tell me about it - Honda Pilot + Enertia =

Yep....already hung bicycles upside down on my side near the back. Scooters go under bikes. Car goes in front of scooters. One scooter may sit in the middle between the two cars, but that hasn't been decided yet. The Enertia is pretty narrow.

My wife's side is the forbidden zone...her Camry only (her Ford Max Energi, hopefully, next year). If i put anything on her side it is soon "vanished" never to be seen again.

Couch and Desk get taken car of first...no craigslist as my daughter wants both the couch and desk as soon as she "loses" a roommate...hopefully next month, but roommates in their early 20's are slow to....well just slow. :)

Ha, well I have the advantage of my Fiat being half the freaking size of your Pilot...but I have the disadvantage of the scooter i'm keeping being 550 pounds and not tiny....so probably a push...smaller car + scooter + Brammo = bigger car + Brammo.

My other scooter I'm going to give to my scooter club for when people come from out of town and need a ride and such.

BrammoFan, those are some tight tolerances... Holy crap! This is what I get to look forward too.

Currently I have the Fusion, 2 mountain bikes hanging from the ceiling, and the Gixxer packed into my side of the garage. I find that putting the Gixxer on a paddock stand saves me at least a foot of space compared to setting it on the kick stand. So when I get my Empulse, im gonna have to get another paddock stand as well... otherwise, its just not gonna happen for me with the space my wife has given me to work with.

At that point there is no way i can eye ball parking the car in there... I will have to use the tennis ball method. That is, hang a tennis ball from the ceiling marking the exact point that I need to stop the car when it touches the windshield. During the summer I can just park the car outside and let it collect dust.

Horrors....nothing I ride is ever parked outside (other than camping trips and hitting the bars)...

Garage at home, Garage at work. Too much sun here and too high of elevation to keep my "children" outdoors.

My wife uses the tennis ball method...I will to when I get a car. My big scooter locks upright, my smaller scooter center stands...the Enertia Plus will center stand too....so no leaning with side stands.

They all should fit pretty easily I hope...it should look interesting on my side with Car, Big Scooter, Enertia Plus and 2 bicycles hanging upside down.

My wife's side is her car only...mmmm, spacious luxury. Dang her :)

The method I use is: I nail a piece of carpet about the width of the car to a 2 x 2  piece of lumber of the same width.  I roll onto the carpet and can feel it when the wheel wants to roll up the 2 x 2.  Put it in park.
How did I figure out where to put the "carpet bar"? Well, I started WAY back. Roll - Park - Check. Reverse. Adjust. Roll - Park - Check, etc.

I also put a chalk mark where the carpet bar should be so that when I sweep the garage, I know where to put it back.

I could put my bike up on my paddock stand, too.  That would probably save some room, but I don't need it.

Well, I have a station wagon and six motorcycles in a two car garage. Getting the Empulse in there is going to be tough. Something will have to go - that would be the GPR-S.   ;D

LMAO, I was just looking for roommates for my place and I burst out laughing when I read the remarks in bold above...
I had some college kid from ASU looking at the place.

a) he asked me obvious questions I had answered in my post on craigs list...
ad read - "I'm looking for two roommates for my 1625 sq ft 3 bedroom 2 bath single family house with many amenities."
early 20s dude from ASU - "So are you going to be filling both rooms?"
b) Then he tries to negotiate.
dude - "erm isn't 500 plus utilities a little high 'dude'?"
me - "read the ad - no negotiations, you're paying for a newly remodeled place in a GREAT location!!!!"

DumbA**!!!
Ok sorry about the rant!
Kids!!!

You guys are lucky you have garages btw! Till I left CA I thought it was standard to have one, apparently Arizona natives didn't think so... a lot of the older houses here don't have them, I'm lucky I have a two car carport...
Fortunately I have a ramp from the carport to the laundry room thanks to the old owner, I'm just going to keep my (to be) beloved Empulse there, out of the Az heat...
