Great find! It was bike #72
I bought the VCU. I need a few other minor parts to make mine whole again. Handle bars clutch lever belly pan... to make it original again maybe there will be other bikes parted out. Pretty soon there will only be so many left

Bikes For Sale Or Auction / To Sell Or Not To Sell?
« on: December 07, 2019, 02:41:56 PM »
On the fence about selling my 2013 Empulse R #42. <15,000 miles. It has new sprockets and chain. It is in really good shape. Bike needs a VCU. I'm willing to fix and keep it but I haven't been riding at all now so maybe its time for a new hobby...
What should I do?

Brammo Empulse / System Fault v58 VCU +12v Out of Spec
« on: March 03, 2019, 03:50:35 PM »
Ok I need some help.

I got System Fault V58 this morning. I guess I need to replace the VCU again.

1.)The question is would the VCU for the 2016 TT work for the 2013 Empulse R?

2.)Do I need to access the bike's computer to simply change the part?

3.)What are the problems if I keep riding the bike with the fault code? Would that lead to other problems?

I've always loved those ironic flames on the side.  ;D
Thank you. Check out the pic I took before I left at the crack of dawn.
Good call on the grips for a quick fix. I may buy victory OEM from the partspitstop just to have them.

Brammo Empulse / Sunday Morning Ride

Nothing like an early Sunday Morning Ride. I've had the bike a little over 5yrs now and I'm slightly under 15,000 miles. Bike is doing well but I need some new grips.  8)

Hey that's my bike! I haven't put the bags on in a while, but I like them they're really nice... I guess I should get on the forums more often...

UPDATE:
Thanks for the response. I disassembled the rear set and kickstand. I stopped short of going any further because i needed to disassemble the clutch line in order to get to the front sprocket and I was not prepared to change the clutch fluid. Also without having the replacement parts needed I didn't want the bike sitting around in pieces waiting with a hope and a prayer to find a replacement part. I still couldn't tell exactly where the leak came from. So I cleaned up everything real well, put everything back together and topped off the oil. I took the bike around the block, ran it through some gears and parked it for 1 day with no oil leak. The next day I charged and put +48 miles on it. When I got back home I figured if there was a leaked at the front sprocket then I should have oil spray on the rear of the bike, there was none. Dumbfounded I parked the bike on the kickstand and waited. The next day still no oil leak. So after the second day I found a couple of drops of oil on the top of the kickstand. It seems that it only leaks slightly when the bike is leaning on the kickstand and takes a really long time to drip out. So I put it back on the stands and no leaks that I can see. I guess I'll just go by the local bike shop that was selling Victory and see if they have any suggestions or would be willing to work on the bike when I'm ready. The good news is that it's not spraying oil on the rear tire while I'm riding... To be continued...

Finally got the bike on stands to deal with the oil leak. It seems to be coming from behind the front sprocket but not sure. The oil is coming down the back of the kickstand.
Any suggestions?

Ok I think I need a seal too. I took the bike out for a ride and when I got home I parked and covered the bike. the next day I'm getting a small amount of oil coming down my kickstand and collecting under where the stand contacts the ground. Even if you find a seal, who is going to do the work? Where did you find the seal?

I wonder if I'm getting this same problem.

My bike stopped charging at the Level 2 charger at my office on Thursday, but the Level 1 charger still worked at home. I was able to charge to 100% and make it to work. When I got back home on Friday, and tried to charge with the Level 1 charger, that failed to work any more.

Can anybody tell me how I can see if the connectors had melted? Or is the only way to to take the bike to the service department to take a look?

I remember when mine did this, it was one of the cooling fans for the onboard charger needed to be replaced. At the time nobody could do the work so Brammo sent me the replacement fan and so I changed it myself.

Are you in the Tampa, FL area?

Have you lost your mind?

Could be.  :)

In all seriousness, sorry for my poor choice of words.  I shouldn't have implied that a working EBoz bike should be parted out to resurrect a standard Empulse.

If anything you should be looking to keep that limited edition and be asking if someone wants to sell their bike because their's went kaput.  I need Plastics, 2013 handle bars, OEM clutch lever, and some other stuff I can't think of right now.

In your scenario, you're suggesting that I cannibalize others' Empulses to maintain the EBoz.  That's of course a great idea and I totally get that.  Except for one thing:  I'm not mechanically inclined.  If something goes wrong with the bike, and a local professional couldn't repair it, then I'm SOL.

We both arguably hold an EBoz in high regard.  Rather than wait for it to become unrideable before passing it along for parts, I thought it would be nice to give someone else--someone more capable of keeping it in good repair for many exciting years to come--a chance to enjoy it while it still runs?

If there are no tempting offers, I would be proud to continue to have the honor of riding it.

Reading this thread, I'm wondering if it would be helpful to recruit current Empulse and Enertia owners who would be willing to sell or gift theirs to others in this group who need parts to make up for the lack of help and parts coming from Polaris.

For example, as much as I would sorely miss my Empulse R EBoz edition, it would give me lots of warm fuzzies to know that someone who loved the bike could put it or its parts to good use for many years to come.  Mine is still in great condition, has had the oil breather tube recall already addressed, has just come home with a clean bill of health from the 9K service, and feels like it will run for many more than the 10K miles it has already clocked.

In short, mine is not dead.  Would someone like to make a serious offer?
