I'm #180 in Cincinnati, corner of OH, KY, and IN, no contact from Brammo or any dealer yet.

Unfortunately, 4th quarter deliveries will keep me out of the initial group of buyers.  Down payment process complete by end of October to me means November/December delivery.  I was 180 on the wait list but expected to move way up because of people dropping out due to price, delays, etc.  Now I'm one of the ones dropping out.  Would not be able to get many rides in before the weather turns cold and wet in Ohio.  I would have definitely been in for September deliveries and possibly in for October, but Nov/Dec doesn't makes sense for me to have it sitting all winter eating up warranty time while not being ridden.  Maybe the spring!

12. Flash-to-pass headlight button
13. Charging cable appears to be 15A 120VAC plug...is this the 120V adapter that comes with the Empulse?
14. 2 tapped holes on bottom of left side of swingarm...for mounting a rear sprocket protector?

2. Swingarm tapped for bolt-on spools/sliders
3. Electronic sensor just rear of rear brake caliper...speed sensor for determining rear wheel lock-up on regeneration for slippery roads???
4. Studio photos do not have red rim-stripes on wheels or carbon fiber "tank" cover, but action photos do!  Hope the correct rims weren't available for the studio shoot since it's obvious that the CF tank cover was not available at time of shoot but will be on the "R" (CF tank cover is in "R" specs)
5. Remote resevoir on rear shock for better cooling...held to bracket with standard hose clamps
6. No seat lock visible...is there any storage under there?
7. Cutout in the sub frame plastic fender under the seat just forward of the tail light...fender eliminator ready?  Possible ventilation for some component with cooling fins
8. Chain uses a master link clip rather than permanent pressed master link
9. 2 empty frame mounting holes below swingarm pivot on right side, 1 empty on left...could this be used for lower fairing mounting of a full faired bike?
10. No room for bar end mirrors unless we add some bar end weights
11. Front brake cross over line is mounted directly to center of fender rather than the typical fork bracket seen on many bikes...is there enough clearence between the front tire and the bottom of the bolt/rivet that holds the line to allow for different manufacturers tires?  Tire diameter/profile varies greatly between manufacturers for the same size tires

August 27 update for #4...closeup studio photos of "tank" and "cord" do show red rim stripes in background

Brammo Empulse / Re: Empulse On the Road Date
« on: April 24, 2012, 10:21:25 PM »
Somehow I was confirmed as pre-order number 15... dont remember how that number is calculated from my order number. Either way, Im happy to be 15th in line.

Don't think you can tell any place in line from your order number.  It may be that you were the 3rd and then 7th of that day.  My order number is 20100729004 and Brammo has confirmed me to be 80th in line for pre-orders, so I guess I was the 4 person on July 29th, 2010.  Interestingly, my pre-order confirmation email states "Your Order #20100729004 (placed on July 28, 2010)".  Notice the 1 day discrepancy between the coded order number (29th) and date placed (28th)?  Must be a time zone/business hours issue because it was only 10 PM EST (7 PM PST) on 28th.  Maybe after 5 PM PST they start counting orders for the next day (29th).

Hmm... seems I've stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest, which wasn't my intention. I was just excited to share some positive news, since I had gotten Zero from Brammo. Hope I didn't get my dealer in trouble with TPTB. :-\

Haha, no harm no foul.  That's the purpose of the forum, to discuss things.  As I mentioned, I "definitely" would do anything I could to get an Empulse sooner rather than later.  I also didn't intend to stir anything up, but hope that maybe someone from Brammo can come on here and if not spill the beans, at least say, "we can't divulge our roll-out plan yet, but we hear what everyone is saying and think we have a plan that will address everyone's concerns".  Telling us something is better than saying nothing at all  :)

As one of the very early empulse pre-orders, I won't be too happy if someone in the pre-order #1000 range gets their empulse before I get mine just because they happen to be near a dealer that's taking deposits and Brammo prioritizes dealers with local wait lists over direct sales to pre-order customers.  I applaud anyone who puts down a deposit with a local dealer and does whatever it takes to get one sooner than those who have been waiting years, and I would definitely do the same if I was late to the game; however, when I signed up, Best Buy was still in the picture and we were supposed to be able to purchase a bike and have it shipped to us.

I've had cash waiting for almost 2 years, been willing to fly out to the factory and take delivery, cut out the middle man, and pay the shipping back to Ohio.  So if I hear that they will only sell thru their dealers, there are no dealers in/near Ohio and the existing Brammo dealers prioritize "their" local customers with deposits over the people early on the pre-order list, Brammo will probably lose a sale!

I understand the need to take care of their dealers (without a good dealer network, supporting customer is nearly imposible), but if Brammo doesn't take care of the customers then there's no need for the dealers.  If Brammo decides not to sell direct to the customer when there is no nearby dealer, then their remote dealers also need to take care of the pre-orders.  Obviously, the dealers want to sell locally so they can get the maintenance, repair and accessories sale; but some of us have been waiting patiently (or impatiently) for a very long time!

I'll admit that I'm glad I'm not at Brammo and have to make the decision on how to proceed, because I only see a lose-lose-lose situation for them.  Do they upset the dealers by forcing sales to non-local pre-orders?  Do they upset the pre-orders by prioitizing the existing dealers with local wait lists?  Or do they upset the pre-orders and dealers by delaying the release even longer until they have a large enough supply warehoused for everyone and an extensive dealer network is in place to handle all of the pre-orders and local wait lists?

Decisions, decisions...

Chase bike definitely gains on the braking and corner speed, but the lightning seems to be able to match or better on acceleration!

Ah, yes...the Off Topic location probably is a better place for my post since it really isn't "Brammo in the news".  Thanks for the link!
