Now that would be some competition for the Empulse...
We'll see how long it takes for Honda to stop being so cautious....

Looks beefy for a 250 cc class bike...
-
The article says that it's only the size of a 250. Not that it's only performing as a 250

I don't know about performance specs, but if you get rid of the fairing, it looks just like the Empulse. Based solely on looks, it seems much more of a competition to the Empulse than anything coming from Zero.

yep...
and Honda has always been the 800 pound gorilla in the room...
If...IF...Honda comes out with this, well that makes lots of small companies tremble...
Luckily Brammo has Polaris for backup...others won't be so lucky...
of course that is a big IF...Honda is crazy hesitant and slow...it could be years before Honda makes this bike...

I found this "feature" from a different web site's description of the Honda RC-e:
"The working model also features a removable power source allowing the user to power other products when the bike's not in use."
The first thing that popped into my head was my rechargeable drill. I think the Honda is basically a toy. I just don't see having removable batteries without the bike looking like a MotoCzysz E1pc. (Honey have you seen my motorcycle battery?... I think you left it in the rototiller)
I don't think Honda has a clue when it comes to making green type vehicles. Note the Hybrid Accord, Insight, etc. On the other hand, a high performance street bike by Honda would probably have the same effect on Brammo as the Nissan Leaf did on Aptera.

That might be a little harsh. There is a definite school of thought that the batteries of our vehicles can be used to feed electricity back to the grid during non-use hours. I.e., after the batteries are fully charged, but before they are needed to power the vehicle. Check out "vehicle to grid."

Nice looking bike from one of the Big Four. It would be nice to know if the other three have anything in the works (or the big Euro brands)...

The removable battery pack is the MotoCompo micro-bike.

The Honda sportbike looks pretty good. I've always been impressed by non-traditional e-bike designs, but Brammo and Honda can turn out some pretty sweet bikes that have a conventional silhouette : )

Aww, it looks like wall-e and eve had a baby...

Awwww...
I need a reference point, how big/small is this... "thing"?
(Send in the "That's what she said" jokes)
Are there any pics with people near it?
-
Ooooh! Can I attach a Rumba under it and go for a ride in the house?
;D

Quite small.

It's intended to fit inside a small commuter car, for short range travel once inside an urban center.
