Title: Tesla energy home battery systems
Post by: roma258 on May 01, 2015, 01:14:17 PM
Well, that's one way to generate economies of scale. It's interesting that the 10 kWh is $3,500 and the $7kWh system is $3,000. Pretty close to the going rate, right? Anyway, hope they build a ton while bringing the costs down and energy density up. Only thing I haven't seen addressed is the availability of raw materials, but I'm guessing it's accounted for?

Price not include DC to AC adapter, and you would need a lot of them ($$$) to get off the grid, assume you have enough solar panels to charge them and power the home at the first place.  It's a baby step toward a good direction, however.
