I used a Coin Cell Button Battery Holder and CR2032 battery to solve my V78 fault.

The pins lined up exactly with the old battery soldered on terminal holes.

Will the bike run without one of the battery BMS connected? I'm rebuilding a battery but the cells won't be here for months. I want to use a plain U1 SLA battery temporarily but I need to know if that idea will let it ride?

Thats cutting the FRAME itself, I wouldn't put that kind of stress hole in any structural frame member. I routed the cord under the seat lock bracket and out the back with a fender bag to hold the cord tail.

Small world, I just picked up #91 from Ft Collins with 463 miles on the odo and 7 cycles on the batteries.

As a side note, its not really "coasting", the motor controller still applies power to the motor to make it "neutral", otherwise the magnetic drag would slow you even without regen capability.

Taking apart my 2010 VCU, there is an input on the board says "regen disable"

Finally got communication with my batteries. Despite them being stored at 0.0v since 2013, all but one recharged to full capacity. None of them have more than 7 charge cycles.

I used a FTDI FT232RL USB to RS485 Converter with a M12 Female Straight 5 Pin Connector pigtail
