Brammo Empulse / Brammo Empulse R Parts Bike
« on: December 17, 2017, 02:46:06 PM »
I live in an area with exactly no support for my bike. Had some leaking around that motor, which I addressed with some cooling system work. However, the power dropped out while riding after that and has not recovered since (see previous threads). Lack of hardware and software for diagnosing components is killing me, and I’m well beyond my limit of patience.

This bike is now available for parts. Since there are effectively no parts available from anywhere else, this should be a real opportunity for someone. Pictures are available. Current location is northwest Florida. I’m not asking for any payment; I just need this bike out of the garage. If you can pick it up or coordinate shipping, you can have it. Bike has all components minus a radiator cap. Obviously it goes as is.

Please contact me at kdurch@gmail.com and reference this thread. Thanks!

Disaster abounds. The bike will not charge, very similar to http://brammoforum.com/index.php?topic=3484.0. The bike will not drive (see earlier stream of faults). When I seek out parts from Victory (such as a replacement radiator cap), what they send has nothing to do with the bike (way too big, as if for a car).

Sorry to say, I’m pretty much done with this thing. Very expensive mistake. No dealership will service the bike locally (or regionally, as far as I can tell), and if I can’t get parts (especially electrical components that are now rare and prohibitively expensive), then I can’t continue.

Zero is looking like a promising alternative. Heck, maybe Harley will finally get around to producing the Livewire.

In the meantime, if anyone on the forum is interested in a parts bike, please let me know. I’m located in northwest Florida. The bike only has about 3k miles on it. Physical components are all in nice condition. Ultimately I just need this out of the garage....too painful to look at anymore.

My apologies for radio silence; had a family trip and busy days at work over the past couple weeks.

Prior to the stream of errors, charging was going fine. I need to re-check it now. Battery was topped off, so I’ve been hesitant to plug it back in. I’ll also go through your other suggestions and see what happens.

Thanks so much for the reply. Hopefully this thing will work again...it’s a rather large and expensive brick otherwise.

Brammo Empulse / Stream of fault codes, power cut...help!!!
« on: October 05, 2017, 01:40:13 PM »
Early last spring, my Empulse R starting leaking fluid from the left side of the motor. Early summer, I put the bike on a stand to disassemble. No obvious source, and parts are barely available anyway, so I cleaned up and reassembled, though haven’t gotten to ride over the last few months.

This week, I pulled the bike out to give it a test and start commuting with it again. While driving, I initially got a fault code B62, which isn’t listed in the manual (forum posts indicate a battery heater fault, though temperatures are hardly chilly right now in Florida). Shortly after that, the bike cut motor power with fault code B40, BMS back in idle mode. After pulling over, turning off and on cleared this code and I could move again. However, the same code and cut out happened accelerating through 20 mph. I then attempted to limp home at 10 mph, which worked for a couple miles, until it popped fault code A6, AIM module not communicating. This code continues with power cycling, and the bike isn’t rideable.

I’m afraid that these issues are unrecoverable. Is it possible that I have a failing battery module? Any ideas on how to diagnose and fix? No one in my area is familiar with these bikes, so I’m on my own.

Thanks!

Any progress on this? After getting a B62, I got a B40 with intermittent power loss, followed shortly after (while trying to limp home) by A6, AIM not communicating.

Brammo News And Views / Re: Victory Motorcycles winding down

So, Polaris is killing off Victory: https://www.google.com/amp/www.forbes.com/sites/jasonfogelson/2017/01/11/polaris-industries-kills-off-victory-motorcycles/

This doesn't sound like great news for us, especially with the very Trump-y quote from Reid Wilson at the end of the article. First the company puts us all out with general lack of maintenance support for our bikes (a problem which I still haven't been able to solve, even after multiple calls to corporate complaining of no action on recall and warranty work; thanks again to Hollywood Electric for stepping up to help). They'll support parts for another 10 years. Well, lovely....except that electric vehicles can last for far longer than that, but require specialized parts when wear and tear does occur.

Are there any words from Brammo at this point? Can anyone make a statement, an expectation of what's happening moving forward? Many of us had great hopes that Victory's acquisition of Brammo bikes would grow the business and expand electric adoption. Those hopes have proven misplaced, with Victory proving that they care not at all about electric bikes. Little more than a curiosity to them.

This entire experience shows just how important customer relations are to maintain faith in a product, or even an entire class of product. Tesla does it right. If anyone from Brammo is reading this and cares about the Empulse, figure out a way to reacquire the bike and build back up with strong customer service, like you used to have. Hell, see if you can partner with Tesla. The future electric motorcycles depends on it.

Brammo Empulse / Re: My Empulse thus far
« on: June 14, 2016, 08:20:03 AM »
The MANY complaints about availability of service for Brammo Empulse motorcycles is extremely troubling.

I live in Northwest Florida and have had my Empulse for a little over a year and a half. Only a few short months after purchasing (from a dealership in Tampa, which did a competent job of shipping the bike), I received the notice regarding recall for the oil vent tube. Ever since that time, I have been attempting unsuccessfully to have that service performed. Tampa was too far for service, and they were already out of the Brammo game by then anyway. The local (over an hour away) Victory dealership carries Empulse TT bikes and the service manager is excited about them. However, his attempts at cross-referencing part numbers with Polaris were unsuccessful, let alone any attempts at loading firmware updates or anything more "complicated."

This was a RECALL. This goes beyond simple warranty coverage or tech training.

Considering the number of similar complaints regarding shoddy or nonexistent maintenance from Polaris, I must second the idea of consideration of a class lawsuit, NHTSA complaint, etc. Has anyone actively pursued any of these options?

Brammo Empulse / Brake Pedal / Parts
« on: April 13, 2015, 12:53:05 PM »
Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement rear brake pedal on an Empulse R? The pivot point broke on the stock pedal after a slip on wet leaves. No other damage thankfully. I don't live close to a dealer, so I have to find replacement parts online or through other manufacturers.

Also, does anyone have a parts list and ideas of how to get upgrade parts? I'm interested in windshields and bags, but again, no available dealer.

Thanks so much!
