Brammo Empulse / Re: Broken Bike: Sell "As-Is" or Scrap out for parts

Did you reach out to Polaris and request a new VCU? Simple remove and replace and most likely the culprit of the issue.

Off Topic / Re: Familiar Battery Pack Design on Zero SR/F

Extensive testing showed the other power electronics would have heat issues much sooner than the packs. No need for the added cost and volume loss associated with external heat sinks. But yeah, the industrial look of the 7 module bike will always be a favorite.

I fully expect the $13k version from Lightning to be very limited in regards to range, performance, and quality of parts...it may just be enough for them to advertise "starting at $13k" but I'm with the rest of you in feeling like the true bike spec'd to go 150 miles will be much, much more $$$$. Considering they haven't actually produced more than a handful of anything, I'm skeptical...and to assemble bikes in or around Silicon Valley at that price smells funny.

System is OK at <30mV, won't trigger an error until >90mV. Keeping on top of charge is still a great practice to allow the BMS to balance.

Does it not charge using any J1772  plug, or just your adapter having the problem? The Clipper Creek J1772 plugs can wear out over time, the way to tell is if the large contacts are missing small perimeter coil springs. These can wear and fall out causing an open condition and not triggering the charger. Also, J1772 uses a pilot signal to tell charger it's connected, these are the smaller contacts, worth checking as well. I suggest trying a public charger and confirm it's bike side.

Yes, allow the bike to remain at top of charge for days and monitor the imbalance. If it does not improve, you have a dying module. If it does improve and the imbalance drops, you should see better range, albeit limited by the overall again affects on capacity.

Be patient, let her charge!

Depending on the imbalance, I would suggest a couple of days at top of charge to be certain. Power loss at low temps and low SOC is normal...substantial draw on the pack will engage protections.

Yep, output changes with SOC...albeit very little at higher SOC (>95%) but will reduce along the way.

You would have seen a substantial increase at the higher SOC levels... 8)

FYI- Factory testing was done in 4th gear

Leave it on charge for a couple of days. Allow the modules to perform balancing. Do this every so often to ensure you don't have a module with an imbalance affecting the entire system.

Brammo Empulse / Re: battery safety interlock open
« on: January 22, 2018, 08:35:53 PM »
Incorrect, the interlock is an internal safety feature to the battery module. There is no Plug or Switch. The interlock can be reset via a PC with the proper software...and yes I know this will be difficult to find but I'm sure someone out there or a former Brammo/Victory dealer may have the capability. Bigger question, why did the interlock trip? Sorry to be somewhat vague, just trying to point you in the correct direction.

Brammo Empulse / Re: Brammo Empulse CATALOG
« on: November 28, 2017, 04:17:24 PM »
Elaborate on "regenerate" batteries please? Are you engaging someone who is making or reverse engineered Brammo packs? Also, how will your catalog address the Parker motor and it's proprietary IP owned by Parker and Brammo (Cummins). I'm skeptical to say the least...

Ha! I try to reserve my responses for only the most important of topics...  ;)

This was a simple one.

Yes, the panels will fit.
