Title: How many amps while charging?
Post by: Drivingthefuture on October 06, 2017, 10:36:32 AM
How many amps does charging the Enertia draw? 12? 8? I got an extension cord rated for 13amps but don't want to burn my house down. Thanks for the help.

Note:  I have an Enertia +, not a base Enertia, so my values may be different.

I see a nominal 9 amps, but I think I see spikes to 11.  I believe a 15A circuit is recommended.  If we assume they made the smart call and pad 20% overhead, that means they expect it to run at 12A.  Personally, I'd spend a few bucks extra on the shortest cord with a minimum of 15A rating.
