Title: power loss
Post by: Brammoley on March 30, 2018, 04:50:20 AM
the Brammo has the following problem, he gives low battery when I accelerate.
but the batteries still have 70% or more capacity.
there is 69900 km on the counter, still more than 10,000 km until the end of the warranty period.
and after the takeover of Victory and thus Polaris.
the services do not want to run that well, they prefer to keep it off as long as possible.
the dealer says battery number 4 is in a lesser state and that explains the error message .

Leave it on charge for a couple of days. Allow the modules to perform balancing. Do this every so often to ensure you don't have a module with an imbalance affecting the entire system.

Recently, I saw a low-battery warning briefly while accelerating hard from 20-50 mph in a straight line near freezing at about 23% SOC.  Relaxing the throttle made the message go away.  Didn't see it again.

Agree with the advice about letting it stay on the charger for several hours after recharging to 100% to let the cells balance.

Depending on the imbalance, I would suggest a couple of days at top of charge to be certain. Power loss at low temps and low SOC is normal...substantial draw on the pack will engage protections.

what is the imbalance level that is deemed normal? at which point it become a problem?

System is OK at <30mV, won't trigger an error until >90mV. Keeping on top of charge is still a great practice to allow the BMS to balance.

Could you find and solve the problem?
