Calender Life battery
« on: October 15, 2020, 01:38:06 PM »
i will buy an 2014 Brammo Empulse R, with 7500km .
So they use pouch lipo or liion cells, after 6years and not many driven...
Would the battery have less capacity, after 6 years and not having driven much?

I work daily with 18650 for bicycle batterys, and after 5 a6 years they are dead or end life
so ive concern with the battery  :-\ :-\

Regards !!

Yeah that's a tough one, the battery warranty is 5 years or 100,000 miles for Victory batteries.  So you'd figure around 5 years or 100,000k miles it's capactiy would probably drop significantly.  It depends on how it's been cared for.  Has it been garaged?  When they don't ride it for long periods of times do they keep it at 50-80% SOC?  There's a lot of contributing factors for battery life.

Inspect the motor assembly for leaks.  One of the problems with these bikes is leaking gearbox oil or coolant.

You check to see if it charges fine also.

The bike will probably be fine, but the price is suspiciously low.
Does the owner have purchase documents for his bike?

Yes, idd, but I'm going to take a chance anyway.
He has the purchase papers.

For reading the logs, can I do that myself? Or do I have to go to a dealer?

You can read the logs yourself if you have the software to do it.
Some error messages appear randomly and either disappear or can usually be resolved.

If the Brammo Empulse R is capable of driving and can be charged, it should be okay.
Have you bought it yet or not? The price is very good.

B9 is moisture in the battery.  It's not something that should be worried about supposedly.  I am taking my bike to the dealer to see if they can fix this fault code on my bike.  Its annoying it's on all the time on mine.

But yeah you got a great deal on that Empulse have fun!

Hi guys, I discovered some weird things;
-I rode 10/23 to 53% at 2:00 PM,
and at 8:30 pm i got back featured and it was only 46%

-31/10 rode till 41% at 16:00h
at 20:00h it whas only 33%

-7/11 rode it till 20% at 12:30
 17:30 it  whas only 2%

they no sound of cooling or something else.
so ive wondering what it can be ?
battery bleeding ? if i charged it up till 100% the next day is 100, the day after to... so ????

That's pretty normal.  My bike does this.  When the battery is warm (like after your done riding it) it will have a higher state of charge/voltage.  When it cools down it goes down.  At 20% SOC you will want to start looking for a charging if you are not at your destination yet, because it may suddenly go to 0% it's happened to me a few times, they you'll be like what the hell!?

I usually plug my bike in around midnight if I am charging it and I will usually see it at a lower SOC than when I parked it.

I haven't seen Brammo Empulse DC charging yet.
There is only a solution for 9.3kW three-phase AC charging.
