Brammo Empulse / Re: Empulse parts source- Polaris

This is great news! Both from a general Empulse perspective and for my own pending needs...

Yesterday, after riding to work in the rain, I came home and wiped the bike down. In wiping the license plate, I noticed it moved way too much. Turns out the plate holder was cracked ALMOST all the way through on both sides. I secured it from falling with tie wraps and, this morning, after reading your post, ordered the part from Polaris. $75 plus tax and shipping.

So, thank you thank you thank you.
Awesome! Glad to help. Was so excited when I realized this, had to shout from the rooftops! I wish more manufacturers did this, btw.

Brammo Empulse / Empulse parts source- Polaris
« on: January 04, 2017, 10:07:53 AM »
So I just wanted to share my experience, since parts availability is always a concern. I cracked the rear (underseat) plastics in a garage mishap, sending me into a panic about finding a replacement part. Prior experience with Victory dealer pretty much ruled them out. On a hunch, I googled for Victory Empulse TT parts fiche, and what do you know, you can order directly from the Polaris website! I've never seen that before from an OEM (usually you either have to go through dealer, or third parties like BikeBandit):
http://store.victorymotorcycles.com/en-us/parts/#/s/VIC/V16EZBRRBB%2fCB//1

I found the part that I needed, seemed like a direct match, second pleasant surprise- $40 for OEM plastics, nice! Ordered on the 26th, had some questions so called up and was able to talk to a human pretty easily, shipped on the 29th and arrived yesterday. All in all, a pretty pleasant experience!

I know some people are down on Polaris, for a host of good reasons, but at least our bike is not a full fledged orphan when it comes to parts....which is nice!

Thats a big bummer. Have any of you tried riding to Yosemite? I know it will be a long day riding, Maybe it can be done over 3 days (including spending one day at the park).
I would recommend against riding to Yosemite, unless to prove it can be done. A hitch carrier and harbor freight trailer will set you back $500 give or take. Trailer it there, find some loops around charging stations, have a blast! That's what I did last year trailering it to Smokey Mountains and had a blast.

That would be super cool and expose a whole different population to the fun you can have on dirt bikes.

Brammo Empulse / Re: Blown a Fuse
« on: December 02, 2016, 02:18:44 PM »
FWIW, before I found the reason for my bike not charging, I was looking into the possibility of a blown fuse. I could not find the high-voltage mini fuse ANYWHERE on-line. So...if you're looking to become a supplier, take the plunge and order that 50 pack  ;D

May I ask at which terminals you hooked up the battery charger?
Sure, the ones under the seat (closest to the "tank"). They're under plastic covers that you need to remove first. I borrowed a friend's 12 volt 6 amp battery charger.

Quick update, I borrowed a buddy's battery charger and hooked it up to the terminals for a couple hours and that seems to have brought the onboard charger back on-line. It's in the garage getting charged as we speak. Hopefully there are no longterm issues because of this. Fingers crossed.... Bottom line, never let your bike get discharged to that point.

On a related topic, where can I find high voltage fuses? Not from polaris apparently

Brammo Empulse / Battery drained, now not charging

First of all, I messed up. I have a newborn in the house and the bike had sat for about 2 weeks. I went to hop on for a quick ride, but the charge was down to 6%, and being in a hurry I went and grabbed the car and apparently left the key in the on position. I came back to it two days later with the bike dead, while the key was in the on position. Switched to off and plugged in the charger- nothing.

Today I tried some trouble shooting. Checked the fuse boxes. The standard fuses are fine. The high voltage fuses, which would be my guess for the culprit, are opaque (brilliant design guys) so I can't tell if they're good or not. The last thing I tried was connecting my batter tender to the battery terminals (after lifting the covers), still nothing. I'm at the end of my competency here. Should I just suck it up and take it to the dealer (fingers crossed that Eurosports  still works on Brammos), or is there a simple solution here?

Brammo News And Views / Re: Marzocchi, it's over!
« on: September 28, 2016, 04:17:39 PM »
News of its demise were apparently premature.  Looks like Fox partnered with them:

http://www.pinkbike.com/news/marzocchi-now-2016.html
That was specific to their mountain bike division which was gobbled up by Fox. Doesn't look good for their motorcycle division (unless there's other stuff out there).

It's a judgement call in the end. Would you be able to get a 3 year-old $18k bike for $6.5k if it wasn't an orphan? I don't know, probably not. We're all Brammo riders here, so obviously the people here thought it was worthwhile. Parts availability is going to be an issue, but thankfully with Victory doing at least 1 year run of the TT, they should be carrying parts that swap over for a while (I'm in the middle of waiting for a part now, let's see how it goes). There's definitely a risk in being an earlyish adopter in a boutique brand. But it is what it is. You either do it, or don't. Good luck!

I just got an Empulse TT for nearly the same price as what you have negotiated at the moment. I was contemplating between a used Brammo Empulse R vs a new TT. And i pretty much did not have a better deal for any used Brammo Empulse R so i went ahead with the TT. Havent ridden an Empulse R or a Zer but the TT is definitely a thrill to ride. I wanted an Empulse just for the great chassis it has with all the quality components.

So far i think my average range (mixed conditions 50-60% freeway rides) has been close to 90-100 miles in eco mode with some occasional sport mode temptations.

1st gear in sport mode gives the best possible acceleration that i could ask for so i dont see the need for an acceleration like Zero SR.

The reason i went for a TT anyways was that i got a brand new bike for around the same price as any used Brammo Empulse R's that were out there.

This might be the best option for u if ur looking for a used Brammo Empulse R (2014 with 850 miles on it): http://brammoforum.com/index.php?topic=3308.0

Cheers!

Congrats on the new purchase! If you're actually getting 90-100 miles in mixed riding, that is seriously impressive! I get about 65 miles in mixed riding, mostly city, though I do ride pretty hard and in Sport mode. Would be interesting to see what I could get in eco mode and more conservative riding, but what fun is that?!
