“Our calculations show that an increase in electric bike usage improves air quality and environmental health by displacing the use of other more polluting modes of transportation,” Cherry said. “E-bikes, which are battery-powered, continue to be an environmentally friendly and efficient mode of transportation.”

I think EVs are going to be a lot more popular this year than they were last year.  Gas prices around here are really taking off. I have seen regular selling for $4.30 a gallon in San Francisco. News reports say that there is no end in sight, with gas over $5 a gallon expected this summer.   :o

Bad for the pocketbook and the economy, but good for EV manufacturers.
