Brammo Enertia Plus / System fault. Error is back again....
« on: March 07, 2015, 12:57:03 PM »
Nice spring day today. Good opportunity for a longer ride. With 25% left I shortly peaked topspeed for a few seconds and left the highway. Almost stopped at the traffic lights where I got green and wanted to accelerate.
No power and I saw the message 'system fault'.
Instinctively I restarted when still rolling. I'm used to do so over last year's experience ::)

This was a sad end of a beautiful morning. Last year the Dutch Brammo agent installed a new Sevcon controler and a new motor. I thought the problems were solved by that... :-\

Tomorrow I will do another test ride and incase of failures I will send in the files again and see what Brammo/Polaris will come up with.

To be continued.

For the second time my Enertia+ dropped dead riding on the high way :(. I rode full throttle over a distance of 10 km and I hitted two junctures in the tarmac of an overpass. Message SERVICE REQ'D S96 came up.
Still riding I turned off and started again. I tried to accelarate and maintain speed, but again the same message appeared.
I took the closest exit and went the secondary road home at a speed of less than 80 km/h.

From the manual the description of the message is '0x54c1 DSP Overvoltage'
Strange enough, I rode the same route the day before, at exactly the same speed and time. Equal conditions. I will inform my Brammo agent and send him the log files.

In this week I will ride a total distance of 330 km and Enertia+ handles very well. A great way of transportatiion! Riding on the sun; electricity gained from my solar panels.

Brammo Enertia Mods / Roan's mods
« on: April 06, 2014, 03:37:14 PM »
With this mod I can charge my Enertia without removing the seat. I shortened a C19-C20 power cord and mounted it underneath the seat. A vinyl pull tab cap will prevent the connector collecting dirt or moisture.

I used a plastic V form and attached the connector with two blind nails. This sticks with double sided foam tape at the end of the rear light. I can also drill two holes for blind nails in case the tape doesn't last.

A second power cord I leave under the seat and the other one stays at home for easy use.

Brammo Enertia Plus / First ride ended with System Fault B55
« on: March 08, 2014, 04:37:14 PM »
Today I made my first testride. The bike handles very well and suspension is Nice and firm.

So far the good things. At some moment the battery level showed 39% and on accelarating on to the highway the bike suddenly dropped dead. I saw 'Service required B40'. I powered off and started again. Had to do this 3 times on the way home.

Battery level at 39%. Service required B40 BMS Back in Idle Mode. Reset by power off/on. . Rode back, battery level went on 0%. Back home system fault B55 appeared and remains in the display.
Battery level was 0% and required charging. Strangly the battery fan kept continuously blowing on charging.

It was an abrupt end of my first day out. I wonder what went wrong and will contact Brammo Service.

Total kilometres are now 71,5 km.

I will fully charge the batteries and see if the error will disapear. Didn't expect this of a new Enertia.  :-\

Welcome Forum / New Enertia Plus rider
« on: February 14, 2014, 05:45:29 PM »
Hi there,

I'm Roan from the Netherlands. After owning Mini Cooper R50 the time arrived to make a comeback in motorcycling. So I sold the Cooper this week.

I'm very intrested in electric motorcycles. A testride on a Brammo made me even more enthousiastic. The future has started; a new way of riding a motorbike will be electric.

In a few weeks time I hope to have an Enertia Plus registered here in the Netherlands. This will be third Dutch Brammo on the road. Correct me if I'm wrong, March3l  8)!

More news to come.
