Title: Sorry, I have fell in love with a gasser...
Post by: Xaero on September 07, 2013, 08:27:48 PM
So, a land deal I was trying to make never happened (so I never had the money to buy a Brammo).  While I sit here on a Ninja 250 (traded Jeep for, hurts my back lol) I found this beauty:  Honda NC700X DCT.  It gets over 60 MPG and is an auto.  So I can pretend I am riding an electric motorcycle!

I have not purchased one yet (finances) but I think it may be my second bike while I wait for electric to mature a little more.

Honda has produced some very nice bikes recently. Their 500cc bikes are on my shortlist to try.

Yeah, last year I was attracted to the DCT and the mileage of this Honda offering.

But, of course, the Empulse replaced those longings. I'll never go back to gas, except for touring, while the battery/ultracapacitor storage technology evolves.

Rode one for a bit. To sum it up...

Soulless.

Terrible power, bad shifting, un-inspired feel and handling.

If it was food it would be absolutely bland and tasteless.

With the low RPM's it does make it a weird riding experience.  I got over excited about the model but your thinking is right if your looking for something that can rev 10,000 RPM's heh.  I think I may try for the CB500X or CB500F instead.  When I am ready and when they are state side I will be eyeing the VFR1200X or R.  Unless electrics have come down in price and gone up on mileage.
