I don't think BMW cares where their products are manufactured. As an example, their G650GS single is assembled by Aprilia in Italy, using a Rotax-designed motor that is built by Locin in China.  All they really care about is their "roundel", doing things their way and making money from their customers.

Gas2 claims the C Evolution is in the process of road testing.
