Great results for the team. Looks like McGuiness had technical difficulties, but that's all part of the deal. Looks like they made real progress this year!

No improvement in lap time for Mugen. That makes 2016 the first year that the TT Zero doesn't improve the laptime :'(
Victory did show a nice improvement over 2015 and I hope it encourages Victory to go for the win next year!
Maybe next year they will brake the 120mph lap time. I was expecting it to happen today though. Perhaps John Mcguinness could have broken it if he didn't have that problem.

From the Post race interview it sounds like everybody checked up a bit after seeing McGuiness fall back, and no one was full out. Based on riders reactions, I think we could have seen 120 from both Mugens and maybe 116 or 117 from the Victory if McGuiness's hadn't faltered. But that's me.

I'm wondering if it has more to do with the rider at this point, than the bikes. I know Mugen has a damn nice bike, but I wonder how he'd do on the Victory Bike.
He's an excellent rider, and at some point, the rider experience and skill will trump the performance of the bike.

Overall laptime, you're right. And even Anstey was a few seconds slower than in 2015.

Victory had a different rider, but a 44 second improvement is huge. And the University of Nottingham turned in a much faster laptime this year, 8 minutes off their time from 2015.
A hiccup for a single team doesn't represent the industry as a whole, but it is disappointing to not see an improvement this year. I imagine Mugen will be all the more motivated next year .. and double-check their kill switches!

From what I remember of reading the post-race interviews, Antsey back off a bit once McGuiness was out of contention. Bummer ofcourse, would've loved to see them break the 120 mph barrier, but it's not like the bike tech went backwards. Lots of factors in play.
