Peter Anton, the new media guru at Brammo, has been moderately active on twitter, lately. You should follow him: @BrammoPanton (http://twitter.com/brammopanton).
He's tweeted a couple of interesting pictures:
The Brammo Trophy and Award case:

The bikes from the Shocking Barack voyage:

(He said the bikes are right outside of CEO Craig's office.)

Ah, the original Enertia prototype. Love those wire wheels!

Yep...I never understood why they aren't on more bikes...too expensive? too "touchy"?
And notice the seat brace...you could, if you can fit, ride two up on that bike...

I don't know. Perhaps they thought the cast wheels gave it a more modern look? Sounds like a question for Brian.
As for the two-up, I know, I know.

Cast wheels are usually lighter and cheaper than spoked wheels, plus you save on the cost of a tube and the hassle of installing the tube at the factory. The only advantage that I know of for spoked wheels is that they are usually stronger and work better off road. Plus, some people prefer their looks over cast wheels.

Also absorbs shocks a bit.
And if you bash a rim, much cheaper to get going again.
Some makers (BMW) now have spoked wheels that can take tubeless tires.
