throttle - non-responsive

so I am riding and come to a stop at a red light .....kinda long wait.... light turns green, I twist the throttle and nothing & the tank button is flashing...... I pull to the side and push the tank button, turn lights off/on ..... then it works.... was this because of long period of idleness at the light

Hmmm.  I've been stuck at many long lights and haven't had this happen before.  You might consider talking to your Brammo tech.  They'll probably want to see the files that were on the thumb drive.

hmmmm...  is there another reason why the tank button would flash?

Did you put the kickstand down or trip the kill switch by accident? I am guessing that something similar happend that prevented your bike from ride mode. When you went through the restart process, you may have corrected it.

I have only noticed the tank light flashing during start-up.

thats possible ...... I'll keep an eye on it..... as you may know the previous owner had a throttle issue too which was fixed .....

Yeah, flashing tank light means the bike is not in "GO" mode.

Two things to look for if it happens again:

1. Flashing green lights at top of LCD. These should always flash when bike is at "idle" but ready to go with throttle use. I thought those flashing green lights would bug me, but I love them. Sitting at a light with a bike that doesn't make noise nor vibrate is slight disconcerting...those lights let me now the bike is still on and ready to go, hopefully, when the light changes.

2. Speedo. If you see "ON" instead of "GO", this means bike is on, but won't accelerate.

If the green lights aren't flashing on the LCD, look at speedo to see if red Kickstand light is on. Or if you see the notation on the LCD that "headlight off" or "cycle throttle switch", which is the kill switch.

The kickstand magnet can sometimes be a problem on bikes.

good stuff......... I did put the kick stand down and back up again before I got the "GO" again .... could be the kickstand......... thanks

If you notice it to be a continuing problem, email Brammo. Sometimes a bigger magnet on the kickstand is needed. An easy fix if the kickstand is the issue.
