Screen Failure?
« on: December 06, 2013, 04:30:35 PM »
After 2 years of constant riding the last 2 years have only seen intermittent riding. Last night I was to take it for a longer ride than usual (20mi vs 15mi) and upon checking it was down to 97% so hooked it up for charging to top things off.  Screen was showing all pixels black when I went down a couple hours later to start my ride. Everything except the screen was behaving normally so I took the chance. By the end of the 10mi leg was able to barely make out the information on the screen. Parked for a couple hours and the same process repeated on the return trip. We're having a slight cold spell here, about 39F but the temperature has never been an issue before and the original failure was while still in the garage.

Any ideas/recommendations?

2009 Enertia. Original screen was replaced in Jan/Feb 2010 but has otherwise been working fine.

I've not had any problems with my screen. I suspect that Brammo HQ will soon be all over this.  ;)

Highlander,

Great to hear from you again and glad you're still out there riding!  Sorry to hear about the display issue. It's been pretty cold here in Oregon as well, but my display is working properly.  Please contact the nearest Brammo dealer and I'll let our service group know to look out for this one... a dash replacement is pretty straightforward if that's what it takes.

All pixels black like the contrast was jacked up? Like this example from Adafruit, only a little more so?

Highlander, is your dash still acting up on you?
