Looking at Brammo's Facebook page... is that Susan Carpenter with an Empulse R already? There is also another picture posted today showing a black Empulse R already out and about.
-
LATimes, CNN and a few other sites got special access to the Empulse R shortly after the launch party. I don't know whether this was supervised access or if they were handed bikes to review.
-
Susan has not yet had a chance to do a ride review on the Empulse.

If I'm not mistaken, the photo of Susan next to the red R bike looks like it is a still from a bystander during the taping of one of this LA times video news story:

Yes, my bad... thought that photo was new. I actually just got done watching this video for the first time. One observation, the Empulse is far from quiet...it sounds as loud as my GSXR 750 with the stock shorty. BTW sick and tired of people bringing up the point that electric motorcycles are silent, total BS. Furthermore, loud pipes do NOT save lives! Helmets, proper gear, and defensive riding save lives...
From the article comments:
"The loud noise on regular bikes is the only thing that keeps you from getting killed. These bikes are silent yet deadly."

Depends on where the mic is placed, and how accurately the noise level it picks up matches human hearing.
Listen to the Zero S here:
2012 Sears Point Infinion TTXGP on-board race footage. All electric Zero Motorcycle Racing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ym-Rm-sO5M#ws)
It sounds loud in the video, but in practice it's audible but quiet while riding, up until about 35 mph where wind noise renders it inaudible. I've heard from friends who have watched me ride that it's silent until about 40 feet away, and quiet then.

If that poster rides accordingly, he'll be roadkill!
