Brammo Empulse / Which model, and why?
« on: August 15, 2010, 11:15:17 AM »
I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on which model Empulse they are, or would be, interested in.  I know when the Empulse was first announced I was leaning towards the 10.0, because any extra range is good (right?).  But after thinking about it for a few days I came to the realization that most "rides" in my area are longer, end to end, than 100 miles.  So I could pay the $4000 extra and still not get to experience most rides, or I could save the money and use this as an around town bike, flitting out to some of the closer county roads or trailering it to one of the racetracks around here for some serious riding.

So now I'm considering the 6.0, but all the people I have talked to so far only seem interested in the 10.0.  Any thoughts?

Welcome Forum / Shane, from Northern California: Hi!
« on: August 12, 2010, 05:38:14 PM »
Hi All,

My name is Shane.  I seem to be experiencing a lack of imagination this evening picking out a username, so I guess I'll just go by Shane.  I found my way to this forum through looking for information on the new Empulse.

At the risk of drawing the collective ire of the rest of you, let me be honest and say that prior to reading this forum, when I have seen pictures of the Enertia, or read the specs, I was less than impressed.  I've been a sportbike rider most of my 20+ years of riding, so I guess I expect a little more.  But here I came across something that changed my mind: a picture, offered up by BrammoBrian, of an Enertia modified for off-road duty, to include knobby tires and a raised front fender.  Having recently abandoned street riding (will the Empulse change that?), my family and I spend a lot of time riding in the dirt.  So seeing the Enertia configured that way helped me remove my sportbike-oriented view of the Enertia and see it for what it is: a light, maneuverable, commute, errand, and recreational bike.

Of course my interest is still the Empulse.  Having most recently owned an SV650, I find the Empulse's specs incredibly...... well, credible.  I can see myself owning one.  I can even see myself riding on the street again (I'm going back to college, and parking and traffic, yeah).  The SV always had more than enough power for me, and I can count on one hand (with fingers to spare) the number of times I actually rode to triple digit speeds.  I'd say I'd feel right at home on an Empulse.

It is nice to see that Brammo has, with the Enertia, proven itself a viable company.  Nobody wants to drop a deposit on something just to find the company can't produce.  And I am immensely encouraged by the reports I've read here of their excellent customer service and the direct participation of key members of their business.

Well, that's about it, so, for now, 'hey' to everyone. -Shane
