Title: Enertia+ in August?!
Post by: FrankH on July 10, 2012, 03:27:29 AM
Hi all,

when I recently contacted Brammo sales to change the e-mail address on my pre-order, I also asked how things were going there, and when my pre-order might materialize. I got a reply from a Brammo representative from Germany, saying they could deliver in Europe this August! Needless to say I was surprised because that's less than 90 days away and I hadn't been contacted about a down payment or any other order confirmation, but apparently (once the dealership here in the Netherlands is finalized) I can just go there, pay and take it away (hopefully it's within range of Amsterdam). As always, I'll believe it when I see it, but it really seems like something is going to happen around here...

Keep us posted!

It seems the June deliveries for Empulse and Enertia+ were a little aggressive, but hopefully we'll see both bikes in August.

Seems possible...the Plus is being made much closer to our European friends...so it should be easier and quicker to get from the production line to dealers in Europe than the States.

Crossing that Pond takes time...

(hopefully it's within range of Amsterdam)

Maybe you should contact EVC Heemskerk.
On their website they are showing the BRAMMO E-motorfiets.
But price is "op aanvraag"

If you want a test drive on a Enertia, there is a Enertia at Ecomobiel at Antwerp.

I have been in contact with EVC Heemskerk a few times via Twitter (@evc_heemskerk) to request a test ride but so far no luck and no info on availability.
They are usually quick to react and helpful though and I just sent them another message today.

I contacted them through the form on their website and never heard back from them. That didn't make a good impression. But they're reasonably close to Amsterdam so I guess I'll try again...

I've got a response from @evc_heemskerk that they can do test rides of the enertia plus now and for the empulse early next year. So after my summer break I will defenitely go for a test ride on the enertia

Found out some more from EVC: they have an Enertia classic there for one day it seems, for demoing and test drives, but they claim to be able to deliver a Plus in 2 to 3 weeks if I want one.
Now for the bad news: the price is way higher than the €8655 that's currently listed on Brammo.com: €9935 and another €250 to get a licence plate and registration. Still cheaper than a Zero S ZF6 but not much...

I guess we'll meet on the 18th of August, kingcharles!

That is a real pity that they don't have the actual Plus version. The price is high enough to consider waiting for an Empulse...
I am considering driving there on my Vectrix but at 50 Km one way it means I will have to charge halfway and at the location. That means 6 hours charging in total...  :-[
I am aiming for 13:00 arrival.

What's the battery capacity and range @ speed on the Vectrix?

I test rode one of the original Vectrix models and it was good for about 30 miles at around an average speed of 50 mph and had a top speed of 62 mph.

What's the battery capacity and range @ speed on the Vectrix?

It used to be 30ah/3.7kwh but last month I measured 24ah/3kwh so I am already at 80% capacity  :'(
My battery still makes the one way commute of 31 km, but only just... this is with 45% at 100km/h 45% at 80km/h and the rest at 50km/h
Almost 30.000 kilometers on the odo.
So doing 100 kilometers on one day means 3 charges during the trip, maybe if I go slow I can manage with two charges but my right hand doesn't work that way.

The Vectrix, but only by a very small margin.

VX1 and Enertia Plus are an interesting comparison, 5 years apart. Comparing a maxiscooter with a small motorcycle is a little bit silly, but .. it's what we've got.

2007 VX1, $11000 (about $12300 in 2012 USD)
125V 30Ah NiMH battery, 3.7 kWh
20 kW peak AC motor w/ regen, reverse
462 lbs + 476 lbs cargo = 938 lbs gross
max speed 62 mph
acceleration 6.8s 0-50 mph (claimed, not sure if I believe it)
range 68 miles @ 25 mph (claimed), users report 26 mile at 40-50 mph
1.5 kW charger = 10 miles charged/hour @ 40-50 mph

2012 Enertia Plus, $11000
88V 70Ah Li-ion battery, 6.2 kWh
13 kW peak AC motor w/ regen
330 lbs + 270 lbs cargo = 600 lbs gross
max speed 60+ mph
range 80 miles @ EPA UDDS, likely 50-60 miles @ 40-50 mph
~1 kW charger = 8-10 miles charged/hour @ 40-50 mph

Motor and charger performance @ the $11k price point have not moved much, at least in these two applications. Range has basically doubled, though some of this comes as the E+ is much lighter.

Today Vectrix is basically selling the same bike but with a LiFePO4 battery pack. 425 lb / 30 Ah / 3.7 kWh Li is $12k, 460 lb / 42 Ah / 5.4 kWh Li+ is $14k.
