Title: Hot wire the charger?
Post by: todd on November 07, 2019, 04:09:55 PM
I have a B6 code and the VCU disables the drive and charge functions. While I try to fix my code problem I would like to charge my battery a little. From the wiring diagram the green wire between the charger and the VCU is marked CHG enable. Has anyone put power to this wire to get the charger to work. Has anyone found any way to run the charger with out the VCU?

Hi,
you can fix the B6 error by cleaning the two cable contacts located in front of the onboard charger ;)

Are you talking about the + and - out put to the battery at the charger?

My friend had the same problem (B6 error) with his Brammo Enertia+ as you and managed to solve it.
Here is the procedure:
1) Disconnect two cables on the front of the charger
2) Disconnect one cable on the front of the control unit
3) Press the reset button
4) Clean the pins of all connectors using the contact cleaner
5) Connect all three cables

Thank you so much for your post. I had already cleaned all the connections on the bike and after your post I cleaned again. Then I checked  from inside the charger to the VCU with a volt meter and all the connections were good. No luck, still have the B6 code. I would still like to use my charger with out the VCU if anyone knows how.
