Ok so after running into Jonathan randomly in the Sunset recently, I've become aware that perhaps the only thing that sounds cooler than an Empulse is . . . MULTIPLE Empulses. I'm pretty sure we have enough folks in the area now to arrange a small get-together.
Downtown SF is probably central enough (and has enough charging capability) to be a meetup point? I know we have some people in the north bay, as well as in San Jose, and then some of those heathens like myself in the east bay. We could do a ride around SF -- which I think would be optimal for range of the bike. Out to the water via Golden Gate Park, up and around twin peaks, etc? Maybe swing by and harass Scuderia? Acquire food and proceed to eat it? Take lots of terrifically smug photos?
Anybody have any thought re: timing, location, route, etc?

National Plug-in Day is this weekend. We all know motorcycles are cooler than cars, so it's a good opportunity to show up in force : )
There's a bunch of events scattered in that area, here are two:

I just registered for the Marin event.
33 registrants and a nice assortment of cars, from Fiat 500 to Fisker.
So far, I'm the only Brammo.
I have a white Empulse. It would be nice for folks to see it in other colors...
This is not to take away from Jeff's idea of a meetup outside the event. Maybe on a weekend before the rains come. Of course, we'll need to be wearing some kind of patch so others will know we're part of a gang.

AWESOME. I had no idea those were happening; I'll take a look this evening and see if I can register. Not sure if I can make Saturday, but Sunday in Marin I can almost certainly do. If I did do a Saturday event it would likely be the Alameda one.
And then yes, while we mill around amongst the electric throngs, we can discuss a group ride or something.
What time do you plan on showing up in San Rafael?
-
On a Sunday morning? Probably somewhere between 10 and 11.

Jeff and I joined up at National Plugin Day in Marin County, California and answered a ton of questions. Lots of oohs and aahs. Local dealer should get many test drives out of this.
Yes there's photos:

On topic: Jeff and I talked about Bay Area Brammo Bums meeting up some Saturday at Google campus where there's lots of chargers. OK, I made up the name just now typing this.

No Brammos at the Cupertino event (not even a lowly Enertia). Just three Zeros, one Electriceptor and a big Lightning display. Being Fall there were lots of Leafs scattered around, though. Oh yes. Terry (offthegrid) was there giving cute young girls a ride around the parking lot on his Zero fiberglass 47,000 mile (so far) streamliner.

What happened to the paint on that car off to the right behind the motorcycles?

As I discovered when I was visiting the campus for the finish party of the "Ride the Future" tour, the Google chargers can only be unlocked by a Google employee. Do we have a Google Brammo owner to participate in this?

Bahhhh I was wondering about that. It seemed to work with my Chargepoint just fine when I was there for the EV Summit event, but I wasn't there for any setup beforehand. Welp, either we can try to find a dude or we can try to do the city.
If we want to do more south bay, the Target in Fremont has a huge amount of charging stations. I've used them many times.

Which campus? I was at the campus next to Charleston park in Mountain View trying to use the row of chargers on the edge of the campus overlooking the park.
I wonder if they disabled the feature for the EV Summit, or perhaps it has something to do with "business hours"?

"Yet another..." is a great acronymn!
I was wondering if anyone would notice the paint on the car in my photo. The car was white and completely destroyed my photograph, so I (crudely) Photoshopped the color to gray. Normally I would have used the clone stamp to erase the car, but that was too time-consuming.
