new blog.

and yes, lightning is beautiful, but I prefer it to be beautiful from a distance. I have seen patients that were hit by lightning. I do not wish to be one of them.

Gavin,

Why not put the Empulse in the truck bed? I recall the Enertia Plus did pretty well in the bed..

As an aside: I moved up to Nashville recently. I put the Zero in the moving van and tied it down to the side rails. Not sure how much the U-Haul people would have liked that if they had known : P

My wife asked the same thing.

Truthfully, the Empulse is just a bit heavy for me to move in and out of the truck by myself. A younger, more confident man can do it...or maybe if I had a longer and wider ramp...

But the extra hundred pounds over the Enertia gives me "pause".

Thinking about it, I should look into a longer and wider ramp. My current ramp is nice as it doubles as a bed extender, but it is short and narrow.

Off to the intrawebs...though I still like the idea of a small motorcycle trailer made for the Empulse.

my ramp

but the angle up is steep...and coming down is a bit of work...I worried I might drop the Empulse...which would be bad...I might drop the empulse on me...which would be worse.

dang...they do fill width ramps...why didn't i get one of these?

oh well...maybe...funny, i added the hitch for the truck for the Empulse...and now I could get the wide ramp and not need a hitch...i am all over the place on this...

one thing I know. the short, narrow ramp is no longer what I need. Either a trailer or the wide ramp.

I borrowed a truck and ramp from a friend to load the bike up. I believe it's this ramp, or one very much like it.

The rung gap gave me a little bit of pause - you REALLY don't want to get a foot stuck while walking the bike down. However, in practice it worked out just fine.

Beautiful pictures!
You do some great advertising for your country, I must come to visit it one day and rent a motorcycle!
Once you go EV, gas is history!

Price is right, but those gaps ARE scary looking.

Maybe a piece of 3/8" ply with some cross strips screwed to it and secured to the ramp with a couple of u-bolts and wing nuts?

I vote for the trailer.  I have a feeling you are going to be riding Brammos for a very long time.  A low small trailer is so much easier to deal with.  And it has many more uses than just motorcycles.  Much more useful than just a ramp.  Just my thoughts.

Agreed, on both points. This was a good one, Gavin... Like all of them.
