Drive Oregon announces new marketing grant program for electric vehicle industry (http://www.crbizjournal.com/news/article_bfa5a778-01b3-11e2-9c26-0019bb2963f4.html)
PORTLAND - Drive Oregon announced its second round of Matching Grants to accelerate the growth of Oregons electric vehicle industry, and also unveiled a new Marketing Grant Program.
Three Matching grants were awarded, totaling $142,000:
$50,000 will allow Ashland-based Brammo Inc. to open a satellite facility in Portland for its Special Projects Group, strengthening its R&D work and new product development. This new facility is expected to ramp up quickly to employ a dozen engineers and designers by the end of 2013.
Not sure how far you can go with $50,000 to spend in Portland, but congratulations to Brammo for expanding. Brammo is (or soon will be) in Ashland, Talent (as soon as they occupy the Wal-Mart), Portland, Hong Kong, etc.?

Nice....still think the satellite office should be here in Albuquerque...much cheaper than Portland and also opens up a new geographical area of the US market.
But then I'm a bit biased :)

If you can convince your local government the throw enough money at Brammo, I'm sure Brammo would consider it.

$50000? If that employed a dozen engineers (granted, those job estimates are .. rather optimistic), the city and state would make its money back in a year.
