Title: On/Off Switch issue
Post by: jazz999 on June 13, 2016, 06:08:20 PM
I have an issue with my Enertia on/off switch.  Sometimes I have to switch it on and off a few times for it to actually to go.  It seems to be when I press the switch to the "on" position, and even though it is all the way down, it still doesn't switch to "go".  So I have to either switch it off and then on again or use my fingernail to press the button down a bit further in the "on" position.  I have occasionally had it turn off on me while riding which I believe happens because the switch gets bumped a bit, just enough to turn off, even though the switch is in the "on" position.  Any ideas?  Do I need new switch?

I'm an Empulse owner, so I don't what your switch looks like. But in general, if you can take the switch apart, I would, blow it out with compressed air and spray some contact cleaner (ProGold is one brand) in it, reassemble, and install.

OTOH, If the switch isn't too expensive and is available from after-market sources, replacing it might be the best way to go.

How's that for a firmly ambivalent answer?  ::)
