Tubeless tire plugging video

(1/1)

Richard230:
Here is a link to a video published by Bike Bandit showing how to plug a tubeless motorcycle tire using one of the sticky-string tire plugging systems typically sold in auto accessory stores for around $10 (without the CO2 cartridges)- or two to three times that at motorcycle accessory stores, such as Bike Bandit.   ;)

JeffK:
I always carry one of these kits.
Resqued me and my friends on quite a few occasions.

Tho not recommended by the experts, I kept on riding the plugged tyres untill the tyre was worn.
I keep a safety limit not to plug a tyre when the hole is closer to than 1 inch to the edge.
(except for a short distance to get me home)

Shinysideup:
For my life, I consider anything but a large mushroom put in from inside the tire to be temporary. This is the type of repair used by California Highway Patrol motor officers.

That said, I found an opinion on another thread in another site that recommended a particular brand of sticky strings. I went to the manufacturer's website and their video convinced me. A bit more expensive, but it looks the deal and is what I now carry:
