Maximum net power or maximum continuous rated power as applicable: 6.5 kW at 4500 min-1

NASA sees Zero's 9 kW continuous rating minute over 30 minutes and raises them 7 kW over 43k hours. Ideally, the NEXT ion thruster would be powered from a small fission reactor or RTG like Curiosity.



There's an alignment of interest between NASA and vehicle manufacturers for better batteries. NASA recently (PDF) evaluated a selection of pouch cells, including the EIG cells in the 2012 Zero bikes, for spacecraft usage in pretty abusive circumstances.
