“It costs about 90 cents for a full day,” said Brown. “And it doesn’t make a sound.”
Sounds like the PD love the bike. But how they got to keep it is rather disturbing.

The chief said a factory representative delivered the vehicle for review by the borough. The council decided that the town could not afford to spend $14,000 on the bike and instructed the chief to return it to the manufacturer.
That is when things took an unexpected turn. Chief Brown contacted Brammo only to find they had no interest in the motorcycle. The company had sold its motorcycle division to Polaris in January 2015. Brammo anted to concentrate on its lithium battery business.
Chief Brown then contacted Polaris who had no interest in the old Brammo machine.

$14k for a police motorcycle would have been a steal... (I suppose $0 is an even better deal) IIRC a harley police spec motorcycle is in the $25k range.

The 60 mph top speed makes me think it's an Enertia.
