Victory Empulse / Re: oil leaking from electric motor
« on: March 16, 2024, 08:42:25 PM »
Hi, I have a few questions:
Did you find out what was the cause of the damaged gasket?
Was it mechanical damage (locking pin in groove) or chemical damage (old or inappropriate type of transmission oil)?
Why did you choose the 10W40 specification, which has a higher viscosity than the one recommended by Victory (10W30)?
Won't it have an effect on higher losses in the gearbox and thus a shorter range?
Thanks a lot for answer.

I would recommend you to buy the second Brammo Empulse as well. It is a very rare bike and spare parts are very difficult to find.

Balancing the modules while its open since bike was stitting at 12% for the pass year dead. They started at 14.08v

Hi acceler,
when I look at the photo of you balancing the battery cells that are removed from the package, I have one important note:

When you charge the cells from 12 to 100%, they will increase their volume a lot and it will be difficult to put them back in the outer packaging. You'll have to clamp them down like Corbin did. A better option is to discharge the cells after balancing them again to reduce their volume, put them in the package and then charge them again.

It is also very important for this type and chemistry of cells that they have no possibility of movement in the package. Otherwise, cell casing leaks around the electrodes, which is the cause of chemical leakage.

Brammo Enertia / Re: Convert to Belt Drive? Can it be done?
« on: June 16, 2023, 03:09:15 AM »
Hi Oliver,
I am in contact with the guy from Germany who converted his Enertia to a belt drive. If you write me your contact, I can pass it on to him. The entire conversion cost about 1200 Euro.
Cheers

Brammo Enertia / Re: My Enertia turns "On" but won't "Go"

Hi Gerry, thank you.
It is a dc-dc converter that is soldered directly on the VCU board.
It's a Murata NTE0512MC.

https://power.sager.com/nte0512mc-1501720.html

I don't think it can be replaced with another power supply.
I have another spare VCU where the same converter is burnt.
My friend is going to replace it with a new one and I'm going to hope it helps to get my bike working again :)

Cheers
Karel

It looks like module #7 has about 10% lower SoC than the other modules.
Is it possible to ballance it, for example by longer charging?

I have the same problem now with my Enertia+  :'(

When I want to put the bike into ride mode by pressing the start button, nothing happens. The contactor does not close and the control diode on the Sevcon motor controller does not light up. I found out that there was a fault somewhere inside the control unit. When I connected it to another working bike, same fault appeared.

Could the DC-DC converter on the VCU board be broken even though it looks fine visually? I also have a problem with the parking lights sometimes not turning on in the park key position, but I don't know if that's related. Also occasionally in the past there was a D4 error and the bike stopped running. After a reboot it worked again.
