This is interesting Richard . I see the point and think it's a good concept. Kawasaki are a good and reliable brand.
The petrol engine is great for highway use and eliminates range anxiety. The electric motor boosts acceleration and provides low emissions around town. The stop start reducing heat build up whilst standing for lights etc. Something that becomes annoying after a while.
Courier rides in big cities will benefit, commuters perhaps. I'm not thinking potential superbike owners will buy it.
I see no mention of weight or hybrid range. I guess we'll have the price soon enough and see how sales go.

They say with the 450cc hybrid it has the power of a 1000cc, good enough for me.

Here is the latest news regarding the new Kawasaki Ninja 7 hybrids. Oddly, both the Ninja 7 and Z7 models will be the same price in the U.S., even though the Ninja has more plastic on it. Both models are priced at $12,500, so it seems to me as if Kawasaki isn't planning on selling very many of them here: https://www.motorcycle.com/bikes/new-model-preview/kawasaki-ninja-7-hybrid-and-z7-hybrid-are-coming-to-america-for-2024-44598106
