The State of Colorado has now split out a new FYI page for the revised 2012-2016 Innovative Motor Vehicle Credit that gives up to a $6,000 dollar refundable tax incentive for EV's. (It also gives tax incentives for all kinds of other green cars too.)

It is mostly info straight out of the old FYI, but it contains some new stuff, like this:
Q: Can a vehicle qualify for this credit if it is not on the list?
A: Yes. However vehicles must be approved, and the credit calculated by the Department of Revenue. Credits for manufactured vehicles must be applied for by the manufacturer

So, open question for anyone inside Brammo -- Is anyone working with Colorado for updated Enertia Plus incentive numbers? Of course I'd like to see the Empulse 6.0, 8.0, and 10.0 tax credits too... *grin* But seriously, depending upon how the incentives shake down, the Enertia Plus may be somewhere around just $1K more than the current Enertia (after rebate).

I just spoke with someone very special at Brammo and he assured me that they are aware of the Colorado incentive situation and are working toward getting those incremental numbers for the Enertia Plus and the Empulse.

UPDATE: whoops... old link these are at 85% not 75%!!! Strange that they have the Zero 2012 models in there, no way you could have bought one in 2011.

I'll admit, I'd take a $6000 credit on a ZF9..
I got a call about a Zero S back in very early January .. Zero was sending out a very early shipment of S bikes at that time. It's not inconceivable that someone might have scored one before 12-31.. but the more likely explanation is that Zero just submitted the paperwork and CO didn't verify that bikes were shipping.

If you goto that page in your link, and go down to the bottom of the page you will see this:
# Income 67: Innovative Motor Vehicle Credit **NEW**
This is the 2012-2016 tax credit information. The old FYI 9 is now just info for people still filing their 2011 or earlier state taxes. FYI 9 is now dead for new purchases, and FYI 67 is the law of the land.
That should really make things confusing out in the internet world for a while, eh?

OK, now I see it...
I must say... its one of the easier tax documents to read. We are extremely lucky to have this benefit available to us! The funny thing is that it would seem hardly anyone takes advantage of it AFAIK. I have not seen one LEAF, Volt, or Zero out on the road here... in fact the only EV I have seen is a Tesla Roadster that commutes up and down south Wadsworth...

Funny you say that, because I was up on Colorado and I-25 yesterday, and I saw my first Leaf in the wild here in Denver. I pulled up behind it not realizing at first it was a Leaf, and my first impression was "man that SUV has a fat @ss". Then I looked at the badge and saw it was a Leaf. They are definitely larger than I thought. I started comparing it in size to cars in other lanes, and the closest match to the rear end size was a RAV4.
I wanted to pull along side, but he dropped me in traffic because of the lights.
The interesting thing is that the Leaf doesn't qualify for the full 6,000 dollar tax credit if you can take the full $7,500 federal credit, but the Volt does. That's because Colorado now deducts the $7,500 federal credit from the Incremental Price Difference. So the Volt is actually now cheaper in Colorado than the Leaf!

Crossing my fingers that Brammo will include information tonight about what State rebates the Empulse and Empulse R will qualify for (especially Colorado)....

Just took a peak at that form and I dont see the Empulse yet... not really surprised but it would be nice to get an exact number. I cant see how it would be less than 6k considering the Zero ZF9 qualifies for 6k rebate. Perhaps Brammo can chime in here :) Specifically I would like to know what comp they will be using.

Not sure what the Colorado discount is, because it isnt listed, but I would imagine that its the full 6k. That is, if the tax discount doesnt take into account the price difference with the federal discount, which i dont think it does. So:
22300 - 7500 - 6000 = 8800
LOL... I would buy one of these quirky things at that price! And I love the matte paint.

not matte paint though...it is that color all the way through...think really thick garbage can...
I kinda love this fisher price car and would buy one too if I had those deals in New Mexico...sadly we have NO NADA NONE incentives....

The Colorado tax credit for this vehicle would be zero dollars. It doesn't qualify because it isn't already listed and this is the only way for it to get added to the list:

Since Think can't apply for the tax credit because they are goners, these orphan Think City's can never qualify for the Colorado tax credit. Personally, I think that is a good thing. Because the whole point of the incentive is to kick-start the production of EV's so companies can get past the very expensive early adopter limited number stage and move on to mass production. There is a larger goal besides just getting individual EV's into the hands of individual drivers, and giving a credit to Think would not achieve that larger goal.

Makes perfect sense 1416... I dream too much :). Not a bad price still, just couldnt see myself in one of these unless the price was VERY right.
