Group Rides And Meetups / Re: New York owners?
« on: September 23, 2012, 08:32:24 PM »
Yes, I offered to help with a test ride on that forum. I am not too close to NYC, but I probably have one of the closest Brammo bikes to him if he wants to try mine out.

Brammo Empulse / Re: And so, it begins. The Empulse assembly line

Am I the only one who noticed the EU version in the white Emulse?
It must be for pre-order from Amsterdam  ;D

After a little research, is it because of Sensation White?

Here is my assumed translation with a little help from google translate:

Quote
Green Electric Cavalry

WASHINGTON - Police put into service ten electric motorcycles, Brammo Enertia Plus (police version). These follow the Vectrix electric motorcycle which were introduced in 2008 and 2009. The second paragraph of the police electric motorcycle. Police said the electric motorcycles were put into service in response to the government's environmental protection policies.

The police versions are looking good.

Brammo News And Views / Re: "Would you buy stock in Brammo?"
« on: July 18, 2012, 01:40:41 PM »
I voted Yes.

I certainly would. I originally bought Valance Battery stock once I knew Brammo was using them in the Enertia a few years back. Brammo has since switched battery suppliers, but my prediction of Brammo's success led to my previous investment decision, as well as my future investment decision; once they go IPO.

Brammo Enertia / Re: vapor in control panel
« on: July 03, 2012, 01:50:16 PM »
Has anyone had this problem? Has anyone tried silicone sealant around the seams in the controls to prevent it?

Yes, but it seems to be only a temporary problem based on the following thread:

I ride in wet and humid weather a lot and I have not personally seen this issue with my Enertia Classic. I bet a silicone sealant would help.

Off Topic / Re: Electric Pride- Show It Off!

I rode my Enertia Classic to work today.

I really like that the pollution is virtually zero. When I accelerate, it is smooth and it feels like you are being pulled forward. It is quiet enough to ride through the suburbs without making much noise. If I ride enough miles, my operating costs will essentially break even with a gas motorcycle over a period of time.

The sound of the electric motor is different and somewhat sci-fi like. It sounds like you are going faster than you really are.

Here is a picture from where I parked today:

Great Volt ad.

I have to ask: Any forum members here fans of "The Walking Dead"?  (Either the comics or the television series).

Yes, I like the show. There are lots of details to keep track of which makes it more interesting for me.

(Heck, buying a $20k bike just once is a bit too rich for me.)

I agree, but I made a decision to buy the Empulse as my first luxury vehicle purchase because the technology is cool,  it helps to reduce local pollution, it has low operating costs, it will be a blast to ride and life is too short.

It would be nice if Brammo had a buyback program, where they take the old bike back and sell me a new one, and then upgrade and resell the old one to someone else. I doubt that would happen... Oh well.

I believe this will happen in one form or another. I asked Brammo about this and trading in my Enertia to a Brammo dealer may be how it happens. Brammo did offer exisiting Enertia Classic owners a $2,500 loyalty discount to upgrade to the Enertia Plus. Brammo is also encouraging a used bike market to get more people on used Brammo motorcyles without having to pay at new price levels.

I imagine that Valence is being uncooperative due to an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with Brammo. It may be a custom solution for Brammo by Valence.

Are you observing the batteries before/during and after charging? I would guess it is related to the state of charge per battery module.

You are not at risk of ruining the batteries due to the lack of knowledge on the LED blinking. If you follow the advice in the owner's manual on battery care, you should be all set.

Nice mileage update. Mine is at about 3200 at the moment.

No e-mail yet. I will report here as soon as I get one if no one beats me to it.

It is likely to be early next week.

Wanting to buy / Re: id like 2 buy....

Nice job on getting everything ready to go ahead of the Empulse.

Good luck in Las Vegas. My game there is mini baccarat. I use a system that takes advantage of trends (i.e. a win) and does poorly (i.e. a loss) when the hands are consistently choppy. The odds of winning (while against you always) are some of the best you can find at a casino.

Gear or Merchandise for Sale / Re: Team Icon Brammo Gear?
« on: May 14, 2012, 10:47:18 AM »
So my question is; outside of the basic gear (helmet, gloves, boots) what is a must have and what is an overkill?

I try wear as much protection as I can. You could be the best rider in the world and the risk is still there from cars, trucks, weather, etc. I believe in ATGATT.

I wear:

Full face helmet
Riding gloves (gaunlet-style mostly)
Motorcycle jacket with armor (shoulder, spine, elbows)
Motorcycle overpants with armor for hips and knees
Appropriate boots (with a hard toe) that lace above the ankle

It slows me down a bit to put the gear on, but I have more fun riding when I feel safer.

Brammo Empulse / Re: Has anyone...
« on: May 11, 2012, 10:16:43 AM »
Welcome to the forum.

Are there any early pre-orders on this forum that has received a call or any sort of contact from Brammo?

Not yet. It was recently announced that the Empulse R models could ship as early as June and the base model to ship in 2013. I would expect these bikes to go out to news outlets/certain dealers first. I would guess that Brammo would be adding dealers to their network in the near future.

Like Gavin, I would expect an e-mail blast next week.
