Title: The best electric motorcycle
Post by: Richard230 on August 04, 2016, 04:46:39 PM
While you may not agree with the conclusions of this article by Motorcycle.com, they give the Victory Empulse the runner-up spot and say some nice words about the bike. The only real negatives that they complain about is that it has too many gears in the transmission and it costs too much (no surprise there): http://www.motorcycle.com/mobos/best-electric-motorcycle-of-2016.html (http://www.motorcycle.com/mobos/best-electric-motorcycle-of-2016.html)

I agree with the article for the most part.  If I buy another it will prob be a Zero.  Had Brammo continued down the path and continued to develop their motorcycles, I have no doubt they would have the best one on the market right now.  The Victory is nice and still cool looking but it is essentially a 4-5 year old Empulse with a few updates.

I really like the Zero 2016 DS for under $11K, range over 100 miles with option up to 179 miles (for about 4K more), 0-60 in around 5sec, top speed almost 100mph.  Even if you get all the options, it is still cheaper than Victory, goes almost as fast, has more than 2x the range and fast charging.

I agree as well. My next bike will most likely be a Zero. The deciding factor for me is CCS quick charging. The moment Zero, Victory or anyone else who comes out with a reasonably affordable bike with CCS, I would buy it in a heart beat. I know the Energica bikes have CCS, but I am not spending over 30k on a bike. Until then, my Empulse will have to do.

As long as my Empulse keeps running I will not change the bike. I always keep my bikes for at least 5 years so only 3 years left for it to keep going  ;) .
But my next bike must have DC fast charging capabilities. That's my only requirement beyond what the Empulse has.
Maybe I will even go for the diginow charger if no affordable bike with DC charging is available in 2019/2020.
