Busy days here at Brammo!
One of the more interesting things that you don't know about involves us scouring the Interwebs to find the biggest Brammo fans. We're constantly reading blogs, digging through social media and visiting forums searching for top advocates. Now we're in the final days of selecting one individual to be chosen as our next Brammo Evangelist.
Could it be you?
Wow....it has been awhile...and I thought maybe this wouldn't happen since Brammo is giving away bikes to a random deposit holder....
But it seems Brammo will be giving away another bike** soon.
Now the questions:
1) Enertia Classic, Enertia Plus or Empulse or Empulse R?
2) When will be it announced? At one of the upcoming races? Just a random date?
3) Who will be the 2012 Brammo Evangelist?

**BrammoFan, correctly and understandably, was the first winner...a Peacekeeper Blue Enertia (Classic...though it was just Enertia at the time :) )

My thoughts...taken with huge fist-sized grain of salt...
1). Either a Plus or an R. Brammo will want to promote their latest vehicles. So Plus or R, not the non R as they don't seem to be making that version just yet.
2) One of the upcoming Races. Brammo is very good at these big promotions. They will want bikes and racing gear and Brammo Babes to really get the "correct" photo op for the occasion.
3) Depending on the rules: Brammofan (if they allow repeat winners). EB could be getting his R sooner than next year. Susan Carpenter has done quite a few articles on Brammo, but I doubt press are allowed prizes like this (my daughter is a journalist and I know she can't receive ANYTHING other than her paycheck from the paper). Honestly...Me...outside chance...I do talk a lot :)... Proto...great posts, very smart...but I don't know if Brammo will give a bike to a Zero owner...but maybe...
One thing for sure....lots of people are going start throwing posts up on the interwebs real fast :)

1. I think Brammo would lean toward giving an R...they are really pushing that model as their flagship/halo bike...but the last winner received an 8k bike...and he was a pure Brammo Evangelist...would Brammo give away an 18k bike to this years "winner"?

I think press are out, I would guess multiple prize winners may be out as well.
If Brammo gives away an Empulse R it will be to someone with a similar level of visibility as Brammofan. While forum posting is fun and does generate useful discussion (and hopefully learning all round), forum posts IMO don't help Brammo much.

Yeah. Grrrr...I've been very social, here, around town, chatting it up at motorcycle shops and rallies, riding in parades and toy runs and such...but not so much media...oh well. I find twitter boring and pinterest baffling....and facebook is mostly personal...a victim of my age and profession...should be more nerdy and less children's hospitally.
I did post the Breaking Bad photos and such...I do have a Durango Photo shoot coming up...and working on a couple more secret things...hush hush... :) But then Hush Hush doesn't help in the media department either...oh well.
I still think I am at best second. And that is only in my own mind...I might not even be on the page for all I know.
Three options:
1). Brammo should give away a R and a Plus...one for media evangelist, one for social evangelist. :)
2). If a certain somebody wins a R, and that certain somebody is not EB, well "that person" would be happy to sell the R to EB for a nice discount and then buy a Plus...and the loaner Classic (a certain somebodies little brother wants the loaner E very badly). EB gets his Empulse early...and a R to boot, and for a price below a non R and that other certain somebody gets a lovely Plus...and a little brother--42 years old and 6'3", so not too little :)--gets the loaner and everybody is happy. Plus EB's name isn't Empulsewinner, so he gets to keep his name :).
3) Brammo does whatever the heck they want and doesn't really care about my other 2 options.
I think 3 is the likely winner... :)
or maybe :( is more accurate.

edit...i really didn't think Brammo was doing any more evangelist give-aways...so this is actually quite exciting...at the same time, I'm kinda kicking myself for not doing more...sigh.

Definitely I think the most effective way to be an EVangelist is to get out there and ride. Bringing the EV from something you see in hit pieces on foxnews to something you see people riding / driving around everyday is a big step.

Gavin, that sound like a great plan if you win the R :).
I will say that I created my blog and apps with the hopes of being the next "Brammovangelist", but the site and apps just became a hobby over time and I would have been (reluctantly) just fine with waiting until 2013 to buy the base model. If Brammo can only recognize 1 evangelist at a time, then of course I would hope to be that lucky person, but at the same time there are a team of us evangelists too.

Ha, yeah, was riding at lunch today (bank trip) and stopped at a light...the guy next to me had his window down...i look over and he nods to me and looks away...so i looked away too (when I stop next to somebody with their windows down I always give them a chance to ask about the bike, as they so often do)...anyways about 10 seconds past when i hear, "Jesus, is that electric" and I had to laugh as I said, "why yes it is", because he had blurted it out like he was bit by a snake...all loud and surprised...
As the light turned green I took off normal (so basically I left the cars in my dust) and got to my usual 5 miles over the speed limit and stayed there...after a bit he caught back up to me and smiled...so I then gunned the bike for a few seconds so he could see that electric bikes are actually quite fast.

Totally agree... get these bikes into the hands of those who will promote them the most... Once I get my Empulse I will be blogging, and tweeting the living crap out of it. ;D Its easier to write about, and promote Brammo products when you have personal experience with them. Getting them out onto the streets will help greatly too... I have yet to see one in the wild here, but hopefully that will change soon.

I've seen at least two different Chevy Volts in town. Plus one more on the interstate this last weekend on a trip to Atlanta.
Haven't seen a PIP (plug-in prius) or Leaf on the roads, yet.

I kinda wish I had bought the LEAF I had reserved...but I just don't want a wagon...
Now if Nissan made the Altima coup into an EV it would be at my house yesterday.
Though now that I have a pick up truck to carry my Enertia on long trips, well I don't really need a car at all...bicycle in summer, Enertia for all year round, truck for long trips.

I do think Gavin and EB are the most likely candidates. I know I am in their blacklist for leaving the pre-buyers list when they delayed production and then for openly criticizing them for the ridiculous price difference between the original Empulse 6.0 and the current R.
That said, eventually, when I get my second-hand Empulse, I will gladly keep my word on the challenges I proposed: I would get my college to create fast-charging parking places (I'm already working on it anyway, so it would just speed things up), try to take the Empulse on the road for a cross-country trip, documenting everything as a full documentary (that would have to be during summer), and taking the Empulse to a few traditional riding spots that most electric motorcycles can't go because of range issues. First ones would be the Skyline Drive (Shenandoah National Park) and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Of course, I will be reporting all about it here and on a blog.
Now, it's just a matter of waiting until there is an Empulse for sale that I can afford...

Nice list, Ninja...and nice rides. Skyline drive is beautiful...and one of the few places you can buy Moonshine at a fancy restaurant.
It has been 2 years since BFAN won his peacekeeper...Brammo could give away two bikes... :)
Or Brammo could split it...not a true "giveaway", but I bet EB would be happy to "buy" an R for half price and I know I would be happy to "buy" a Plus at half price...two bikes out on the road, two Evangelists spreading the word...two fans for life...and it would be a nice compromise and a nod toward BrammoFan (like how Presidents wouldn't run for more than 2 terms in respect for Washington, well nobody should "win" more than what BFAN won when he got his Enertia)...
So EB keeps his name, but gets his Empulse sooner and at a nice price under 10k. He's happy, his wife is happy and he has a bike running around Denver this (late) summer. I get a Plus that I've been DYING for at an amazing price of around 6k and I'm happy and going on even more and longer trips around Albuquerque and the surrounding states...well maybe not Texas :) Ok, maybe Texas too, but only Austin and San Antonio.
A win win...though of course not quite as nice as winning the bike outright...
and this assumes that EB and I are in the running...EB I think for sure. Me? Vanity says yes, but it still seems a bit foreign to me...

Gavin, I would be surprised if you weren't in the running. After all they sent you an Enertia to play with. We have seen many a trip report, and photos of your adventures too. I can only assume we both are near the top of the list... hopefully :)

Just a question here: can someone show me where they say that the next Brammo Evangelist gets a bike? You know what they say about when you "assume."
Of course, the DON'T say that they're NOT giving out a bike. :-\
My vote for the next Brammovangelist (thanks, EB, for using the term which I coined ;) ) means A LOT because, of course, I was the most recent recipient of the crown and therefore, the standard against which all who follow must be measured.
So, Gavin, Empulsebuyer, and anyone else who wishes to wear the crown: Go ahead and feel free to influence my vote. Everyone, as they say, has a price. Bid early, bid often. yadda yadda.
Gavin, as I recall, you had a blog at one time... fire that baby up. EB - you posted to your blog recently, but it needs to be a daily deal. Point of reference - in the 12 months leading up to my "coronation," I made around 400 posts to the Brammofan blog. Not sure how many tweets I did, but I'm up over 6600 now. I started an owner's forum (with the hard work and assistance of my co-administrator).
Also - don't necessarily discount your participation in this forum. I try to tweet about some of the posts here (look for @brammoforum on twitter).

Oh I totally agree...which is why I honestly didn't think Brammo would be doing the Evangelista thing again...none of us did or do as much as BFan...this site...near endless tweets, hanging with Brammo and Chelsea Sexton and all that.
But I do think there are different ways to "proselytizes"...it doesn't have to be blogs and tweets...
EmpulseBuyer's calculator is a great idea well done. He also has a website. And more....
I try to go any place and every place and take lots of photos and answer tons of questions (if I had a nickel for everytime I've ended a conversation with a stranger by saying, "B R A M M O, they have a great website, check it out", well I'd have a lot of nickels). Nothing against blogs and twitter, but I do more each time I smoke a car out of a red light, slow down and then talk to the person in the car about the bike at the next red light...and then smoke them again...but that is because I talk to a lot of people while out riding, but my blog and twitter is mostly read by my family.
Should I blog more? Heck yes. Should I twitter more? Probably, but again my twitter circle is kinda small.
But riding out to Coffee at Dawn and hanging with a hundred motorcyclist, or riding the Enertia out to the Warrior Dash (knowing I will have to spend a long down time to charge each way at Subway) and parking at the Entrance so over 10000 people have to walk by the Enertia, or riding in Parades and Toy Runs...well that actually reaches more people than I can on twitter...but that's just me and my style of "spreading the word."
As is doing my Breaking Bad photo tour, and working toward a possible special surprise on that front.
As is maybe being the first motorcycles in 40 years to have Pebble Beach's OK to ride on 17 Mile Drive.
As is setting up a photo shoot with the Durango Steam Train so I can get the Enertia up on the Depot next to the train to highlight Old and Beautiful meets New and Beautiful. 7/7/12 if anybody wants to join me :)
As is writing to the Trinity site to try and get special permission to ride the E to the site of the first Atomic Bomb test...which is only open twice a year...no answer yet, but it WILL happen :). As will the Very Large Array.
And so is getting permission from Brian to ride the Enertia below stated in the manual temps, just so I could ride in single digit temps and show that the E can do that....etc etc.
Still, BrammoFan not only did it first...he likely did it best. This site is basically an addiction for me...and a wealth of information...and a great place to hang with wonderful people.
But that doesn't mean it is the only way.
That said, just for you BF, I promise to Blog more...will try to do one this weekend.

Edit..and ps (always a ps)...I did all that and more, not to "win" a bike**, but because I love riding the bike and I want Brammo to do well and for their bike to be seen out and about and in fun locations...the Zoo, the Nuclear Museum, fall photos, winter photos, freaking Ecilpse photos...she is basically an appendage at this point that goes just about every where I do...can't wait for the Plus so I can ride twice as far...and for ever further trips, heck I bought a freaking pick up...I'm 50 years old and have never owned nor wanted a pick up...now I couldn't live without it :)
**not that I wouldn't love a free or discounted Brammo motorcycle...I just seriously thought Brammo wouldn't do it again...it has been a while since it was done and a while since Brammo has talked about it.

BrammoFan is the original "Brammovangelist" (OB?), and this program probably would not have left the ground in the first place without his efforts... BF helped me get started and has RT'ed my tweets to his huge twitter fan base, and more. So I owe him big time, win or no win... HUGE thanks Harry.

Thanks Gavin. Amen to that... MANY late nights (especially at first) were spent coding and refining my apps. This stuff is NOT easy. (I have an update for the owners map BTW). I felt the apps where the best way that I could use my skill set to contribute to the community. Gavin also has a another approach to Brammovangelizing, we all make a pretty well rounded team if you ask me. Besides, Im not doing all this to win a bike, Im just a huge Brammo fan like you guys. It would be a pretty sweet deal if we could all get a piece of the Brammovangelist pie.

Ha, no...sad to say my knowledge of porn stars is quite limited...and isn't the term porn "star" an oxymoron? Like calling Britney Spears a music Artist.
But at heart I'm a poet, and Evangelist just sounds unfinished to my ear...that plus living in the Southwest, well Evangelista sounds not only more poetic to me, but also a bit more street and ethnic.
So here in beautiful (though darn hot these last few days) New Mexico where the wild fires burn hot, and the woman hotter, we shall be know as Team Brammovangelista...and say it loud, proud and with a song in your heart...and remember to roll your "r"s and draw out the last "a" sound into a nice long ahhhhh.

Hmmmm, a trip to the Isle of Mann would be ever so tempting...the downside: Me drinking lots of fine British ale and acting like a fool for a week on the lovely Isle of Mann wouldn't quite have the same positive marketing effect as having a nice Empulse R tooling around town for the next 15 years :)

I just love the phrase No Me Gusta ever since that Team America scene when the Panama Canal is blown up and the guy is holding onto his open truck door as the flood sweeps him away and he is yelling out, "No Me Gusta!"
I hope that if ever a flood is sweeping me away I have the presence of mind to yell out, "I Don't Like!!"

On a slightly more serious note:
I really like what has happened here in the last few days.
Team Brammoevangelista is actually a bit of a surprise.
Often, probably almost always, a contest or competition is announce like Brammo did and everybody goes off and works alone, in secret or actually works to undermined the competition...
Here we come together and help each other and root for each other (and try to get us all prizes :) )
BFan gives us some kind and helpful suggestions---get off your lazy butts was mostly what I heard, but also a few other nicer things :) ---EB and myself highlight what we think we do well already, but we also listen to BFan. EB posts a blog, I like it online and comment. EB makes a twitter, I retweet it. I make a few comments on Facebook and EB likes them. BFan got me going back to twitter** and making some posts, and his rant did get me working on a blog post for release at the end of this weekend (plus the Enertia will be featured prominently at our Sunday Adult Kickball league games...and Tuesday night Adult Soccer league games)...
So it is true that we are stronger as a group, a team...sadly it doesn't happen like that often...happily it does seem to work that way here.
Which is kinda cool.

heck, I even posted a non Brammo tweet...and got a response.... some background...1) my wife watches a lot of How I Met Your Mother...2) Creamland is a local Dairy company...3) for some reason I woke up in the morning with this thought...4) Neil Patrick Harris is from Albuquerque--I met him twice, but that is a story for another day 5) while trying to tweet the thought to Creamland I found out that the local company was owned by a bigger company called DeanFoods...and that Creamland didn't have a twitter account, but DeanFoods did...enough background.
@deanfoods Creamland should hire Neil Patrick Harris 4 an ad--tv,radio,print, T-shirt,milk carton Creamland, it's Legend-wait for it-Dairy.

Ah. Reminds me a bit of the game my wife and I play: "Celebrity" We'll be in a public place and one of us will see someone who reminds us a celebrity. "I see ... Neil Patrick Harris." Then, the hunt begins. Variations: someone that looks like the lovechild of two celebrities, or a young celebrity as he/she will look in their 80s, etc.
Anyway - back to BrammoEvangelista - is that plural? I never took Spanish. :-[

well, actually, Brammo did like my lyrics...but it took a while...insert unjustified angry face smiley...do they make that smiley yet??
It was for when Brammo mentioned they were watching and reading and looking for the next Evangelist.
Every breath (of clean air) you take, Every (gasless) move you make, Every bond (to OPEC) you break, Every step (into the future) you take, I'll be watching you....
as for the Spanish...sadly, and a bit ironically, i'm pretty sure I just turned the team into the female version... oops...

Evangelista is one of those rare cases that can be used for both male and female. The plural is evangelistas. However, if you say is the Brammovangelista Team, you don't need to make it plural because team is singular, although you are a bunch of Brammovangelistas... 8)
And Robert Smith rocks... balls, apparently. ;)

I am already going to Laguna Seca...so I get my bike there
EmpulseBuyer is going to Millers...so he gets his bike there
And then Proto gets a bike at Daytona....
all the bases are covered that way

Any idea when the Brammovangelist was going to be announced? I thought that it might be at Miller, but I haven't heard anything yet. Perhaps Daytona?

Yeah...I was hoping it was at Seca, since I was there...
Then I thought it would be at Miller, since EmpulseBuyer was there.
Maybe Daytona, Maybe a stand alone event....Perhaps when the first Empulses are delivered?
I'm hoping it's soon so the lucky person can get some nice fall riding in.

It certainly wasnt at Miller. I think they would have to announce something at Daytona since its the last race of the season., who knows.

Pretty much. Both Atlas and EBoz were faster around Miller East than literbikes.
Not MotoGP fast (yet), but that's still freakishly fast.

Faster than Stock Jap liter bikes tested by E-boz and the CW on the East course. The "exotics" were tested on the west course the next day.
"Superbikes" is an abused term. They are no where near AMA Superbikes yet, which are only 3-5 seconds off of MotoGP. On a good day, elmotos are mid-pack SuperSport. Although Lighting has made good progress, and Brammo has made some big steps forward this year. Having E-Boz and Atlas both on the bikes should be huge in the way of seriously upping the pace of development.
