If you have the time to watch it, here is a fascinating video of a seminar discussing electric vehicles by the co-founder of BRD motorcycles (located not too many miles from my home). His thrust is that electric vehicles are not really all that practical for most transportation needs in the U.S., but dirt bike racing with electric motorcycles makes a lot of sense for a number of reasons, which he discusses in detail. Plus, he goes into the technical aspects of the design of their motorcycle (which starts around 19 minutes into the video).
