Nothing like some healthy competition!
I'm sure it won't be long before some other major Japanese companies throw their hat in the ring as well...
Can I get a "Made in America" decal on my Empulse  ???

While good to see Honda getting an EV going, and I am always surprised at how Brammo includes their competition on the Brammo Facebook pages...well that bike is just Fugly...

Compare that bike visually to the Brammo racebike, the Mission bike, the Motocrysz bike. Just an unattractive bike....

Though when Honda makes a production bike I'm sure is will look better AND out sell everybody on name alone.

Personally I am not yet comfortable with people calling it a Honda.  You cannot deny the close connection Mugen and Honda have, but I do not believe they are the same company.  And I feel the media referring to it as a Honda are not giving Mugen their due credit.  I think it is a Mugen project through and though, with calls going over to Honda for help with geometry and chassis dynamics.   Especially to the folks who have all the experience winning the TT.  And to be honest, if I wanted help putting an electric drivetrain together, Honda would be the last people I'd call.

Best article I've read so far: http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/news/mugen-shinden-photos-video/#comment-170434.

If you say "Honda" and "electric motorcycle" enough times in the press, maybe it will finally come true.   ;D

If you think of Mugen as the skunk works of Honda then you can see how people would make the connection. However, just because Mugen makes something, doesn't mean that Honda is going to pick it up and run with it.

Like they said...If it wins the Isle of Man (and they do have a GREAT rider to help them do that), well you can beat A) Honda will claim a lot of credit and B) Honda will move that much faster into the EV motorcycle market...good press is always nice.

If it does win (or worse, doesn't finish), well Mugen will get all the blame and Honda doesn't mention a word...

A real Win Win for Honda...especially if the do well on this virgin bike.
