Susanna Schick a/k/a Pinkyracer - hit and run

Susanna Schick, friend of electric motorcycles, cool lady, a/k/a @pinkyracr on Twitter, writer for gas20.org etc.,  was the victim of a hit and run last weekend, while she was on her bicycle.  She just got out of ICU but could probably still use some help (see the link, above).

Here's one of my favorite pics of her:

The police are calling this a fall, not a hit-and-run.

Now, I am a cyclist, I have been in a few good falls before, it is hard to believe that this could be anything but a hit with those injuries. Worst fall I have had to date, 10mph, front tire slipped into grove of train track at a ~45 degree angle to road while raining. Damage was more to me then bike, minor concussion, scrapped up left thigh, calf, and arm, and both palms (even with gloves on). Based on what is being said (we all know how reliable that can be), she would have been travelling at roughly the same speed or less. I am no where near as experienced as Susanna Schick. I wasn't there so I can say more then my own opinion.

I hadn't heard the cops were saying that. Sounds wrong.

Man the folks at Brammo are real stand up guys! Hope she gets better soon. What an unfortunate situation...

Hopefully some local surveillance videos help them find the jerk. Those arent falling down injuries, no way in hell. Assault with a deadly weapon, possibly attempted murder here if they find the asshole...

I hope she recovers quickly and I hope they find a witness or some sort of recording of the incident. Hit-and-runners are just cowards who are willing to leave someone to die than take responsibility for their mistake.

yeahhh... I do a lot of riding and that's a lot more than just a fall.  I've wrecked while mountain biking and even gotten a door opened on me while going about 20mph and had nothing like that...

I agree. I've been an avid road cyclist for 40 years and I've hit the ground more than I like to admit. The only time I ever broke any bone was when I broadsided a pickup truck that pulled out in front of me. I only broke a collar bone in that accident.  The hip is a heavy strong bone mostly protected by the biggest muscles in the body.

Oh I forgot the most important part. Get well fast Susanna, and come back strong.
