MIC develops electric motorcycle top speed test

The MIC (Motorcycle Industry Council) has developed a standardized method for testing electric motorcycle top speeds, so that direct comparisons can be made between various models (instead of various advertizing departments' puffing). Read about it in this Ultimate Motorcycling article:
http://www.ultimatemotorcycling.com/2012/mic-electric-motorcycle-top-speed-test
I find this quote interesting, especially whom is being quoted and what his position is in the MIC:
Abe Askenazi (Chair of Electric Vehicle Subcommittee and Chief Technology Officer at Zero Motorcycles) says: "As more and more electric motorcycles appear on the market, having standards we can all agree on is vital to manufacturers and to our customers."The new top speed test procedure is just one of the many standards the subcommittee has already published or is working on."

Brammo and Zero both participate on the MIC. The Brammo Empulse range tests are all directly from the MIC.
Good to see more standardization on range and top speed.
