Interesting. Not sure what's going on with (I assume) the naked black male standing behind the bike. : )

The quick-change method is pretty cool.

There's a lot of empty visual space under the "tank" area. I wonder if perhaps that could be filled with power-focused battery modules, and the quick-change modules are energy-focused?

Ha! I just assumed it was a statue.

At first I was laughing at the duracells, but then, after seeing the quick change cart, I thought it was very innovative.

Ha! I just assumed it was a statue.

At first I was laughing at the duracells, but then, after seeing the quick change cart, I thought it was very innovative.

It's a (convincing) rendering, so I guess it could be a statue just as easily.

Yes, I laughed at the duracell marking.

In bulk, duracell .. er, cells are around $0.50/unit.
http://www.amazon.com/Duracell-Coppertop-Batteries-MN1500-Alkaline/dp/B003VSCLMI/

MN1500 supplies anywhere from 1.3 Wh (@ 1.0 W discharge) up to 2.6 Wh (@ 0.25 W discharge).
http://ww2.duracell.com/media/en-US/pdf/gtcl/Product_Data_Sheet/NA_DATASHEETS/MN1500_US_CT.pdf

So consumer pricing for alkaline cells is around $190 - $380/kWh .. that would be an expensive battery swap!

And at 24g/cell, energy density of 54 Wh/kg to 108 Wh/kg is not terribly good either.

Duracell has some cells that work better in high-power applications, as well as primary and secondary lithium cells too. But the copper top is always funny to me.

Very cool concept and awesome to see designers and students basing conceptual vehicles on the Brammo brand.  However, I just want to make sure everyone realizes this is not a Brammo endorsed project.  I'll have to get the back-story from the guys at Icon when I see them up in Portland in a couple of weeks.

Well, it wouldn't be the first Brammo concept bike that created by a designy-type fan:
