World's longest electric motorcycle trip
« on: August 06, 2015, 12:24:39 PM »
Motorcycle.com has just published this article regarding a trip through South America by Thomas Tomczky on his 2012 Zero S.  7,856 miles and counting!  Those 2012 Zeros just keep plugging along.   :)  He is in Columbia right now (he should check up on those 100 2012 S bikes sold to Bogota) and it looks like he is planning to ride to the tip of South America.  Good luck finding a place to recharge in Patagonia.   :o

As someone who rode 1K miles on an Empulse in California with its robust charge station infrastructure, this is very impressive. Even more so since he's doing it without all of Terry's extra battery capacity and extra chargers. Heckuva trip, 90 miles at a time!

You sure get to see more of the countryside and the people in it at that rate.   :)  I bet he will have a lot of friends by the time he finishes his trip.   ;D

Agreed:

SF to LA on I5 at 80 mph... sights seen: back bumpers.

SF to LA on back roads at 40 mph... sight seen: baby fox at dawn in Santa Cruz mountains.
