Hi nunux,

although in principle correct, there are a few things to consider:

Kind regards,

Thank you very much for these clarifications Lennart. You are right that it is definitely not a simple mod and I appreciate your sharing ! Do you also water-cool the stock charger with the mod ? This would be amazing !

That's why I am asking, would be really cool :)

One more question : how is the behaviour when plugged to a 7kw station ?

Hi,

yes, its cools down the stock charger as well.

In principle, it is a single cooling plate on which all three chargers are installed. Apart from the fact that it works well, I have to choose this type of construction, because space was one of the biggest problems with the Brammo.

Silent is the Brammo in the loading condition unfortunately not, because now the fans are mounted on the front of the radiator to dissipate the heat. The priority was cooling rather than volume. There are now three fans and not only two, also they were replaced by stronger but not much louder.

Of course, they are only activated while charging, but if someone wants to have a quieter charging situation, I can of course do this with high-quality fans.

Best regards
Chris

As already mentioned by Chris all the chargers are on one cooling plate. Stock from above, the two others from below. Works great.

I'm not sure what kind of station you mean. Are you from the US or Europe? Our system was designed for three phase use in Europe with stations from 11 to 43 kW, which is the standard here. For the US I fear one would have to move to two J-Plugs or just add one charger for a total of around 6 kW charging power.

I could design a new plastic cover (ABS or something else) that fit's over the new charcgers. It could be 3D printed.

Sounds like a good idea to me, especially because we noted that the paint doesn't hold very well on the chargers surface. Where are you located?

In the US we have 3 Levels of charging and Level 2 is what most of the public charging stations are.  Level 2 charging max is like 6.6kwh, so sadly the Empulse only uses about half that.

Level 2 means both in the US and Europe a AC-charging station. In the US this means 1 Phase 7.5kW with Plug Type 1, In Europe 3 Phases with 7,5kW per phase, total 22 kW with Plug Type 2. As this mod uses one Charger per Phase, using it with plug type 1 in the US would only mean one charger is active.
so, as otten.l already said it would require a J-plug or something similar.
