Magic Weather Manipulator
« on: June 06, 2011, 09:56:01 AM »
Well things are kind of slow around here, as many of us wait for more information about the new 6-speed Empulse and when it will be released to us quivering potential customers. So I offer this little item to enlighten your day:  ::)

While I was thumbing through the small ads in the back of the July issue of Rider magazine, next to the ads for the "Green Light Trigger", magnetic bracelets, various chemicals to enhance body parts and homemade flying saucers; on page 135 was an ad for the "new Magic Weather Manipulator". The ad showed a picture of an electronic circuit board (which kind of reminded me of a BMS) and claimed that it would prevent rain from falling on you while you were riding your motorcycle. If you ordered today they would also send you a second Magic Weather Manipulator "designed for outdoor weddings, barbecues, and concerts with cool bands". Naturally, I was really excited about this new product.   ;D So I visited their web page at:  http://www.norainever.com/

Guess what I discovered?   :o It turned out to be a Victory Motorcycles site and the ad was designed to reel-in people like me who read those little ads at the back of motorcycle magazines.  :-[  They had several other funny fake products advertized on the site. I'll bet they got this idea from the Aerostitch catalog, which used to offer goofy fake products for outrageous prices, just to entertain their readers.   :)

A very creative ad and I really appreciate it being hidden away in the back of a magazine like Rider  where only someone like me would find it.   ;)
